So this race has really tightened, and Flake is now up with a nuclear-level ad in response:
It would help if the ad, you know, provided an explanation as to what Carmona was allegedly so upset about, but there you have it: the Republicans are panicking and this is a race, y'all.
They are absolutely panicking! They are paying to put attack adds on my Facebook and Twitter feed. This is going to be an exciting race.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
Carmona has my vote and possibly my husband's.
I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
so does anyone want to see demetri martin with me downtown friday? 9:45pm showing, ticket is free. full-disclosure, you will be a backup plan as i invited a date, but haven't heard anything yet. i have a feeling he will say no though, which is why i'm asking.
Put my early voting ballot in the mail today. Found this helpful website to inform my decision on the propositions:

Who is voting on election day like me?

i always vote in person. #1, it's a precaution against any last-minute news that might change my opinion and #2, listening to people talk in line is fascinating. today i read all the props and made my decisions. there were a couple that were confusing, like the two at the top/open elections thing.

VIDEO: Flake caught defrauding voters
November 4, 2012
12 News' Brahm Resnik just broke a big story: Congressman Flake's campaign is calling voters likely to cast their ballot for Rich and telling them to go to the wrong polling place to discourage them from voting.
These calls are paid for by the Flake campaign and coming out of the Flake campaign -- not some shadowy outside group. At a time when both parties should be encouraging people to vote, Congressman Flake is actively trying to mislead voters and make it harder for folks who prefer Rich to cast their vote.
Please watch this video and share it with your friends.

This is the first time I have done a mail in ballot and I think it's by far the most informed ballot i've ever submitted. The ability to sit at the computer and google every proposition was invaluable to me. I think I spent 2 hours or so all together on it.
It's all for nothing anyway. When Carmona and Penzone walk away losers i'll just feel deflated and understand what a waste of time it was anyway.
Another good reason why I never answer my landline.

I like going to the polls, and taking my Son.
3 in person
3 by mail

I've had about half a dozen phone calls or so in the last week. Tons of mailers that just get trashed in the recycle which is conveniently located right next to the mailbox and WAY TOO MANY E-MAILS, i finally unsubscribed from them. Who do these asshats think they are asking the poor for money!?! lol
Sean, the last polls I saw had Penzone only down 4 points and Carmona down 6 points. Who knows though. I'm not convinced any of these numbers are credible anwyay. I did my part in voting for Penzone (under much protest by the way lol) and Carmona.
I am. I've never seen him run this many ads before. I only have to assume he's doing it because he's worried. As far as I'm concerned, there is a very short list of people I'd vote for Arpaio over. Those people include Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussien, and Mel Gibson.
haha mel Gibson.![]()

I have to admit I am flummoxed by the really local elections. I'm not sure what some of my Mesa Questions will do and I have no idea about school boards and what Central AZ Water whatever is.

i usually chose not to vote if i don't have any idea what's going on, though sometimes i will vote by party. when reading the propositions in that mailer they send, for the few i don't understand, i read through the pros and cons. sometimes there are a gazillion of one and none of the other, so i'll vote with the majority in those cases. especially on things like k-12 education and land appropriations, of which i have no knowledge.
I always leave the land up to the feds or allow for swaps to fund education. The locals always want to allow mining on land which I am against. My opinion is not terribly informed, however.

Last I saw Joe had over 7 million and Penzone had around $300K. The other indie candidate is Stauffer who doesn't have much traction but was probably the best choice. Penzone is a Democrate but surprise he is going to "crack down" on illegal immigration according to him and his website platform and continue fighting that all important drug war. We can go through the exercise of voting him out in 4 years too I suppose.
Here is a bit on the money spent.

Here is information on all the ballot propositions this year.

The Water Conservation Board is a pretty important board... I mean, we live in a desert after all. Former Attorney General Terry Goddard and Heather Macre are the two Dems running. I've never spent time with Terry, although it's not like there's a shortage of info about him. I've spoke at length with Heather a number of times... she's a cool cat. An attorney who focuses on water issues, very smart and knowledgeable...
But if you already voted, then that's that. :-/
