Yeah, I was at the Q-fests. I remember Jesus Jones.

I miss talking to TomAz.
We all do. I live in the same city as him (unless he relocated) and rumor has it that at 3:15am if you listen closely and its really really quiet you can hear him telling you to go fuck yourself.
amy do you understand this avatar trend? I don't. I don't even own a webcam. Why are people doing this? as Oscar Wilde said, "Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months."

Ahhh the Mason Jar. I spent many of my high school groupie years there.
The Real Bar is in Chandler, no? I haven't heard anything. I know I've been but can't remember exactly where it's at.
My friends were in a band too. God, that place is disgusting.
Real Bar is in Tempe. Pretty decent place to see a smallish act. A guy I work with is in a band and he said that he's trying to get in to play there but that their myspace page says they are relocating. Shame, it's a good size place and it's kinda hidden/out of the way.
Yeah, I saw Authority Zero and The Ataris there before. I like the set up.
Outside at the old Nita's meant horrible parking and nothing special concerning the sound. They got great shows and drew relatively good crowds but I'm not that nostalgic, really. Inside Nita's was better for atmosphere though the sound was worse.
Nita's II had horrible sound and a bad set-up. The sound was better when they ran Little Nita's but that never really developed and the feel was too much towards the bar where nobody cares who's playing bit.
I don't think I'm hosting a 2016 collaborative playlist.
I've been to Pasand restaurant in Tempe 3 times now.
Also, I'm probably just nostalgic about Nita's because I actually went to shows then, and a lot of them were at Nita's.

QFT, except that they still had killer shows. It made all the difference. I usually had to park at the porn shop next door. Kept it real, yadda mean?
Nita's was one of the first places I heard the Swell soundsystem. I think.
P.S. Chez Nous is going to that big ghetto bar crawl route in the sky very soon.![]()

The old Nita's was (by far) my favorite place to catch live music in phx. small, dark, dingy, seedy and cramped. It was heaven. $3 guinness on tap and soft couches if you got there early. I saw Whiskeytown there. and Neko Case. and Victoria Williams, twice, once with Howe Gelb opening (I was standing 5 feet away when Mark Olson went up and introduced himself to Howe). Once I went for a Jay Farrar/Brian Henneman solo acoustic twin bill, but it was sold out, and no one was selling, so I stood out in the parking lot to listen. Actually met Henneman walking from the trailer in the parking lot to the club, he couldn't or wouldn't get me in though.
The new Nita's didn't last long, but Sigur Ros did play there once.
Just got this email.
