I knew I liked you.
Can I give the goods to Randy and have him deliver 'em?
Just throw on a wig. We'll probably be too fucked up to realize.
This is excellent, because I've got a collection of hideously hilarious trucker girl hats.
My purse has been resurrected, courtesy of my husband's co-worker (who amongst all his interesting talents, makes custom boots/shoes for fun):
I'm totally thrilled! All the marks and stains just look like normal wear and tear now. Going to take it to the shoe repair to give it an all-over buff and polish when I bring my boots in to be worked on.
WOW!! That looks brand new. He did a great job
That is awesome.
how neat! it looks great

He even refused payment for the repair, though it proved to be tougher than he anticipated. He was just going to bleach it and re-dye it, but the panel turned completely BLACK when bleached (he suspects there was silver nitrate in the original tanning solution). How he got around that I don't know. My husband did promise him alcohol, which he happily accepted.
I am totally intrigued by someone who can make shoes. Good god, wouldn't custom-made boots be fantastic?
I was in household purge mode on Sunday. I'm trying to live by William Morris' adage: "Have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful and believe to be beautiful." I have two boxes of miscellanea ready to go to Goodwill, boxes of books ready to go to a literacy project, two clarinets going to SDUSD's music program, and have boxes of the last few remaining bits of the girls' things ready to be mailed off to them. Since we don't have a garage, we rent a small 5x10 storage unit, and I'm hoping to eventually get it all down to the point where we don't require that, either. (My husband many bicycles are the sticking point; maybe I can talk a relative into storing them in their garage?)
Not having a garage (or basement or attic as in my case as an apartment dweller) definitely makes it tough to combat clutter. Camping stuff, christmas/holiday stuff, a couple of boxes of real winter clothing, ... takes up the only real closet I have and then some. I'm planning to get a bike soon and have no idea where I'll actually store that.
We have four bicycles piled up in front of the fireplace. There are MORE of them. In storage, I have really beautiful glass xmas ornaments I have collected over time, but I haven't decorated a tree in four years... so what's the point? Those may be going off to my girls soon. I kept all the high quality children's books and toys (for the next generation, if there is one), but I may have to winnow those out, too. I've managed to cram all our camping gear in the house, but the surfboards, golf clubs, and cooler are wedged in a small, coat closet-sized storage unit outside our condo. Somehow, I'm going to make this work.
I think these look rad.
I like them on their own, on the foot they look weird. And I don't think i'd want the bottom of my foot exposed walking around any city I've been in.
They're interesting, but they're $300.
the busy bee has no time for sorrow.
If D buys me a pair, I'll wear them.

I think I would buy the pink/white pair but not wear them. And not at $300!!
So I ran into this today but its a topic I've been wanting to place here for a while
to get you ladies going with your thoughts/opinions
men in speedos
I've personally ditched the shorts years ago and it has been the most rewarding thing I've done
My wife giggled at first now she expects them, I get plenty of compliments at the beach (females or gay men)
And most important it feels liberating...
That's so weird. My friends and I were at a slumber party this weekend flipping through men's swimwear magazines, giggling and sharing our opinions about speedos vs. trunks for a good hour and a half.
