  1. Re: The Official Soccer, Football, Futbol, and Footie Thread

Agreed; United have a pretty tough group, we'll make things difficult for ourselves as always, and City have had a difficult time in Europe so far (although they've started their campaign very well).
  2. Re: The Official Soccer, Football, Futbol, and Footie Thread

Yeah, lots of quality in each group aside from perhaps C - Benfica and Gala are good teams, but I can't imagine Atletico will have a hard time topping it.
  3. Re: The Official Soccer, Football, Futbol, and Footie Thread

    Champions League groups just announced:

    GROUP A
    PSG (FRA)
    Real Madrid (ESP)
    Shakhtar Donetsk (UKR)
    Malmö (SWE)

    GROUP B
    PSV (NED)

Yes, this and Suzanne Kraft's Talk From Home really did this style extremely well, especially in managing to avoid the cheese factor which comes from this kind of New Age-y sound. If I remember his...

Very nice. Shame he's on at the same time as Total Control during Berserktown; they only gave him 30 minutes, so maybe I'll just do a split set as Total Control have an hour.

  19. Re: The Official Soccer, Football, Futbol, and Footie Thread

I think a top half finish (8-10) is about the best they can hope for; can't see them overtaking the likes of Spurs or Liverpool, or even Southampton or Swansea, despite the good work Hughes has done.

A front 3 of Di Maria--Ibra/Cavani--Lucas with Pastore in behind is quite formidable, especially with a midfield base of Veratti and Matuidi.
