I'd love to see No Age or Kanye play. Nick Cave, too.
1. High Violet
2. Trouble Will Find Me
5. Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers
6. The National
Yeah, I did. I left after two songs. It was horrible.
This came up on my dashboard today. I thought it was pretty well-timed:
They brought out Something I Can Never Have at OSL. Was terrific.
Also, NIN had a small crowd? What? Granted, I couldn't tell being up front, but that's surprising.
I didn't have any issues with going to the bathrooms, either. The ones in between the entrance and the Polo Field were usually empty as well as the ones closer to the Twin Peaks/Panhandle part of...
Oh, and not that anyone cares, but I've been sporting a Harm's Way windbreaker all weekend. Say hi if you see me
Also, I finally paid a visit to the Barbary. Great stuff. I'll probably start tomorrow by going there and then heading off to Kopecky Family Band.
J5 killed it. So good.
And NIN... well, I could be suffering from post-concert delusions, but that was probably the best live performance I've ever seen. Keep in mind they are my all-time favorite...
I HAVE A NAME *sobs*
It perplexes me that Daughter were on at the same time as The National. They're touring together. I'm pretty bummed that I didn't get to hear Abel, Sorrow, or Slow Show.
Loved The Men, though. Best surprise discovery at OSL this year thus far.
Man, the crowd was dead for The National. I feel like I was the only one singing along.
Tried my luck at getting into Bimbo's and got lucky. Was an absolutely terrific gig.
they see your EEEEVEEEERRYYYYY MOOOOOOOVE
I'd rather not take my chances and just go to Mammoth Grinder tomorrow at Sub Mission. If anyone needs a ticket to Tallest Man on Earth on Friday hmu
...Do you mean to say you plan on walking to GP from Golden Gate Park?
Who's been to Bimbo's? Do they check for ID's?
I've got one ticket to Tallest Man on Earth's night show for sale. Hmu
In the market for one ticket to Tallest Man on Earth.
Greg Puciato. Or Trent Reznor.
Would love to hear Mr. Self Destruct, Heresy, Last, Burn, Every Day Is Exactly the Same, Into the Void, We're in This Together, Right Where It Belongs or Something I Can Never Have at OSL. Really...
I'm hoping Trent and Karen do something together.
Foy Vance -> Smith Westerns -> Surfer Blood -> Band of Horses -> The National -> Macca
Bhi Bhiman -> Social Studies -> either Gary Clark Jr. or Atlas Genius -> Young the Giant -> Jurassic 5 ->...
Search for tix won't work for Tallest Man or for Smith Westerns.
All of the aftershows I want to see are on the same night. Ugh. Will probably settle for Tallest Man on Earth over Smith Westerns.
Is BART even open then? With the strike and all, I mean.
The Growlers are playing at the California Academy of Sciences on the 8th.
Am overall happy about the allocation of bands this year. The only band it seems I'll be missing is Phoenix via clashing with Nine Inch Nails, but I'm not too devastated over that. It's a good trade....
I'm going over the list on page 1 again, and I can't find anything that says Matt & Kim are playing on Sunday.
Yup. A realistic pipe dream of mine would be Clutch at OSL.
I can't see them booking a band like Deafheaven, ever; besides, they're playing at Bottom of the Hill less than a month before OSL.
It's somewhat pointless to speculate, but how long do you guys figure The National will be playing for?
Tell me about it. I'll be there with you. Sometimes it feels like missing both bands in a clash would be better than seeing one and forevermore regretting missing the other :(
I really want to see The National, Phoenix, and Vampire Weekend, but Nine Inch Nails are my favorite band of all time. It's going to be a bitch if I have to give up one of the former three.
I have no issues with Cash being played nor have I ever heard one of those guys play a Cash number.
Half of the songs I listed, as well as a few that I didn't recognize. He was wearing a v-neck, which made it all the more hilarious :rotfl
What kind of parties do you go to, exactly?
Good call on Hotel California. I came up with these:
I'm Yours, Wonderwall, Hallelujah, You and Me, Stairway to Heaven, Under the Bridge, Everlong, Hey There Delilah, Say It Ain't So
Encountered this phenomenon again last night. Let's make a list of the songs you hear from these guys.
Descendants/Pennywise/Sublime With Rome @ America's Cup Pavilion August 4th.
Hopefully J5 play during RHCP. I'd rather stay behind and see a band I normally wouldn't watch than go home early.
So when does the day-by-day line-up get released? I can't remember when they announced it last year.
Also, what comedians do you see playing this year?
I think you mean decreasing.
Heh. I was joking, but that response does seem a bit questionable. Surely I'm not the first to bring up the issue of scalpers.
7/6 - White Denim at The Independent
