Monday, January 19th.
Is anyone else hoping they've made improvements to the stages? Screens at Twin Peaks and Sutro would be nice. Twin Peaks could be louder too.
I can attest to that. I like Youth Lagoon's albums but he wasn't good live.
Is anyone else surprised that the comedy acts haven't been announced yet?
Four Tet killed it in the Yuma. Got there about 15 minutes before he started, but didn't get in until about 15 minutes into his set.
Easily a top 5 act of the weekend for me. It was a tough decision between them and Grizzly Bear but its one that I don't regret.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
HM: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, James Blake, Bat for Lashes
Hot Chip vs. Grizzly Bear. Ouch
Single day passes go on sale closer to the date of the festival if all three days don't sell out fast enough.
Atoms for Peace doesn't have a bay area show in their tour dates. I think that makes them fairly likely for Outside Lands.
No, Daft Life its the name of their production company or something. This is on the backside of the Discovery album's cover:
I can find two.
The screenshot originally posted is from here:
Track lengths here confirmed by multiple sources. Looks like it'll be a long album.
Any bands on line 2 of Saturday. I wish I could watch all of them.
Might as well start a Daft Punk 2015 thread while we're at it.
Of course it is
Lineup at 700?
Finally some activity.
blur and The Stone Roses?
I still want to know the explanation behind this.
Computer microphone or any other device with a microphone?
That one is pretty old. Here is an album with a bunch of fakes. This particular one is at the bottom.
In the interview with Visconti, he revealed that he blatantly lied about working on a new Bowie album for the sake of secrecy. He could be doing the same thing in saying Bowie wont be doing live...
I thought NIN at the 3rd line was bad... then I saw Pearl Jam on the 5th line.
They're quite good live. Saw them in 2011 and I was pleasantly surprised by a Mariachi band with a bunch of white guys.
Bummed about Crystal Castles (see avatar). I thought they would play for sure with the new album. Going to have to catch them in SF.
*edit: Oakland, not SF
New blog post from Nile Rodgers. I already posted this in the DP thread, but I thought I'd put it in here too. Makes it sound like the new Daft Punk album will be coming out in 2013.
"The next time I set foot in Japan, my collaboration with Daft Punk would have started to hit people's eardrums, as well as a number of songs I'm working on over the next few months with a select...
Very nice poster. I think SMD and Grizzly Bear placements would be swapped. Maybe same with Boys Noize and Hot Chip.
Spotify Premium is great. Although I have a few issues with the Android app.
I guess Coachella isn't the only festival that gets fake posters then.
The Daft Punk rumors will never end.... No End
Remote Orchestra or not, I just really hope he's on the poster.
Doesn't really mean much as to whether they might play or not. They're playing Lollapalooza Chile 1 week before Coachella weekend 1.
They're doing a big Euro tour that ends a couple of weeks before OSL.
No American dates announced so far but I'm hoping they'll...
If I recall correctly, eager beaver tickets went on sale in February this year. I was lucky enough to get a couple with a friend, but they don't sell very many.
I'm guessing the headliner that...
Bat for Lashes
Posted this a couple of days ago. I'd love to see them.
New Autechre album March 5th. They would be amazing.
New Depeche Mode album in March.
Now that's a nice looking lineup. I think a Pheonix/Blur co-headliner combo would be more reasonable.
1. Daft Punk
2. Aphex Twin
Yes. Definitely one of the names I want to see on the poster most.
Amazing fake. Any one of the three days is almost worth the price of admission.
