Re: Shaky Knees Festival - Atlanta, GA

I have to agree, we got there early Saturday and parked for free all day just a few steps from the festival entrance, found some great open areas to relax and hang out early, Mariachi El Bronx>Real...
  8. Re: AC/DC: how GV will make everyone eat crow. A suggestions thread

um, clearly they've stood the test of time, already. They started in 1974 and still pack large venues. Granted, they don't stack up to the Stones, that's rarefied air, nobody does, but they're...
  9. Re: AC/DC: how GV will make everyone eat crow. A suggestions thread

here we will have to disagree, I think Eddie is the master of the "badass riff"...again, referencing their early work. But they had the hair metal thing going too (they might've even kick started...
  10. Re: AC/DC: how GV will make everyone eat crow. A suggestions thread

see that's the problem right there...Van Halen is the only band on your list which was worth a shit, with the exception of the first few years of GnR. That's exactly why "grunge" was such a welcome...
  11. Re: AC/DC: how GV will make everyone eat crow. A suggestions thread

yeah, I never cared for Hagar-era Van Halen and so I was delighted to finally see them twice with DLR in 2007. DLR's vocals were still strong at that point but by 2012 he sounded terrible. Even...
  12. Re: AC/DC: how GV will make everyone eat crow. A suggestions thread

"most people" need to pull their head out of their ass...Eddie Van Halen power chords were like Slash power chords when they first hit the ear drum...they shook up the world. I might add Black...
  13. Re: AC/DC: how GV will make everyone eat crow. A suggestions thread

strongly agree, and Van Halen, DLR-era, of course.

this thread has me looking forward to AC/DC in SF in August,

and gives me hope for the youth of today.
