Sound was off early on. By the time she got going, greatly improved. Very good set overall.
I arrived late to the set and had no shot of even getting in to the tent, so was about 5-10 people deep past the back of the tent. Really enjoyed what I heard. Rather different from when I saw them...
Mark Ronson just posted on instagram & twitter he's DJing Amoeba LA tomorrow.
Is he playing one of the local hotel parties or is there a chance of him being a #lateadd?
I feel bad for those unable to check out Charles Bradley, by choice or by conflict.
Is "It's Album Time" what I'm supposed to listen to for the purpose of getting educated? Just started it and seems pretty good 1 & a half tracks in.
DJ set or live set... I'm 100% in for the Chemical Brothers.
Also, I didn't realize that Calvin Harris crowd was so big either. I picked the perfect time to go get ice cream.
All of these would be good additions. ESPECIALLY if Shock-G & Humpty Hump could reconcile.
Brooklyn show just updated to add openers this week. His album, Built On Glass, is now out and it's really good. Hoping the show next wknd is still on.
Rather than start a new thread, hoping someone here may know... do they typically announce dates to coincide with the presale or will they do that ahead of it?
Today's opportunity to be told to fuck off just occurred...
This was my point. I do graciously accept the request to fuck off though.
To the extent you'd like to relive a few minutes of the fun...
That is the best thing I've ever heard. They were getting soaked.
These rumours are starting... who needs to get paid?
Seriously though, I'd be there to see those obnoxious bastards.
And then the security guard sprayed them all down and as they realized what was going on, they kept clearing out. Their loss.
Saw them weekend 1 and had a blast. The tent was fairly empty, but they weren't phased and went about their show with a lot of confidence and crispness. Really glad I chose to check them out.
Nine Inch Nails
Usual suspects in late 90s Electronica - Underworld, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk (not holding my breath, by any means), Massive Attack...
Hell yeah on The KLF.
I'd cosign this, but I have zero faith in Doherty staying clean enough to get to Coachella next year. Would they even let him in the Country?
They had a great sound.
What about EMF plays Schubert Dip?
I decided to be openminded and it really backfired. I appreciate his energy, but the fact that kids eat that kind of disaster set up is scary.
Nah. Win Butler is still just being prickly.
"Don't worry you'll be back again next year."
Also, is it just me or is Skrillex just a weak DJ? Tried watching him to try and understand what the...
Unlocking The Truth on the broadcast right now.
You're about to miss Rudimental, which you'll regret.
Also, agree with wandering around.
Also, Usher & Pusha T for Pharrell.
Damian Marley for Nas.
The Pharrell replay will be on AXS in about an 30 minutes or so.
Including big European festivals or just touring individual gigs?
I was in the far distance of the crowd wknd 1 and it was just a fun dance party.
That said, the broadcast tonight did appear to be a better overall show.
Her physical appearance was in top form. She did appear to have some sound difficulties and was a out of practice, seemed a bit rushed.
She did Ready Or Not and If Ruled The World.
She was really good. Got tickets to see her in a couple of months and looking forward to it.
Kinda hot Nas just brought out Lauryn Hill
I think Sam Smith will be a name to watch this year that could end up being a big name with the quickness for next year's lineup. Probably could've garnered a solid Gobi spot this year, but given...
So glad I stayed up on the East Coast to follow along with this thread's Pharrell live commentary.
Meanwhile... Jay Z
Salt & Straw salted caramel was so good I couldn't resist going back the next day. Got the almond brittle with salted ganache, which was also excellent.
this is amazing. pooped my pants when I noticed Madea.
also, I've seen Vanilla Ice's speed metal show. Generally crap, but the amped up version of Ice Ice Baby would be worth it.
I'm only a casual fan, but I'm glad I caught them. Great stuff.
Broken Bells was good, otherwise tonight's been meh.
Thank you so much for these. Unlocking The Truth was great.
This ice cream was so good that I tried the almond brittle with salted ganache the next day. Also, excellent.
I think you're correct, but the flip side is that I'd never seen them and didn't want to miss the opportunity to see it through. May never get another chance.
I'm still really glad I chose them...
Just remembered... I have no idea who EXGF is, but they showed up during Carbon Airways.
Least crowded set for me I think was Carbon Airways. Too bad, because those French kids really busted their ass.
Dirt Nasty posted on Instagram about coming out during TJR, whatever that is.
Heat Sleet Rain Repeat and I agree he was doing it to mess with people. Then it started to snow or rain.
Set list is fairly accurate. I'd say it was about 60%-70% of his own stuff, Zombie Nation, Marvin Gaye, the mentioned blips of Born Slippy by Underworld, and there was the cover of I Feel Love and...
1) Fatboy Slim - Muscle memory that was 15 years old kicked in. Haven't danced for an hour straight like that in years.
2) Motorhead - laid waste to everything in front of them. Really happy I...
