4/24 & 4/25 - Deadmau5 @ the Fox Theater
12/31 - Justice (DJ Set) with special guests TBA @ The Armory
12/31: Kaskade NYE @ Bill Graham
ugh. Is there anything for NYE yet reminiscent of Sea of Dreams?
How to Dress Well wrote that well after they wrote this. Sounds to me like they were trying to save face and stay on the organizers' good side....
I was there on Saturday from 3:00pm until the end and feel like I hardly saw any music. Young Thug was awful. Sure, the rain was bad, but my group and I were well prepared with rain boots and...
I can barely even see Treasure Island from my office on Market & Fremont right now. This will definitely be interesting!
Set times are out. Looks like Kelela dropped out and they added The Polish Ambassador on Saturday. Weather is still looking awful - curious how they are going to handle it.
I missed out on both the photo experience and the merch due to lines. Wish I had gotten there early on Friday and knocked those both out. But I ended up in the pit for the 2nd set of each day, so I...
Not just that post. Every post.
The map's been floating around on facebook/reddit. Apparently came from a staff app update.
soooooo he never said anything about the XX?
They are moving the festival to the East side of the island. Kind of a big bummer, especially since it was originally advertised as their last year at the normal location. Hopefully it will be fine,...
Dancing just outside of the tent to Trentemoller with the wind blowing and watching that unreal sunset is one of my top Coachella moments. I'd love a return.
They've been emphasizing that this is not a "festival" - rather it's a "concert experience" and there no other acts. I'll be at the pool at La Quinta Resort until go time.
It says on the event website that any airfare related expenses would be reimbursed. I don't think they had packages with airfare.
10/22 - Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals @ The Fillmore
Another NYE show announced - Bonobo @ The Midway
according to my fitbit I did 32,456 steps Saturday and 26,981 steps Sunday. Although I do suspect that since it's on my wrist it counts quite a bit of my dancing as walking.
I had a really really good time. Aside from the mess that was getting in both days (should have arrived earlier) things went so smoothly. Never had to wait long for drinks, never felt overcrowded....
you can include me on the list of people who loved Todd Terje at Coachella and can't wait to see him again.
4th medley is up. According to someone on facebook it includes:
1. Dropkick Murphys
2. Emmylou Harris
3. Jerry Douglas
4. Tim Flannery
5. John Hammond
6. Glen Hansard
yep, Mezz website says DJ set.
Jagwar Ma and/or Classixx should both be a good time.
I'm SO much happier with the Saturday set times than I expected to be. Wow. This is gonna be fun.
Set times are up online now!
yeah the orders are definitely off - they already said main stage would go Blood Orange > FJM > Grace Jones > LCD. And I think a while back they said Moby would be closing out the club. Hopefully...
all of the artists are now up on http://fyffest.com/schedule along with their stages, but no times yet... has to be soon.
11/30: RÜFÜS DU SOL @ The Fillmore - Tickets on sale 10:00am Friday 8/19
That Outside Lands set was honestly one of my favorite things I've ever seen at a festival. Everyone in the crowd was having a blast.
Daily lineups are out: http://lineup.lifeisbeautiful.com/bands?sort=day
For as much as I've been shitting on this lineup, I think they did a good job with the splits. There's a good amount each...
Sunday main stage is going to be Father John Misty > Grace Jones > LCD.
I've also gone through security and had them physically tighten the band around my wrist as I entered, so just "keeping it loose" may not always work.
Yeah I can't really even feign much disappointment - saw them at Coachella and will catch them again at FYF, so 3x in a year is not too shabby considering I thought I'd never see them again.
They just added a Griz show at the Indy on the other open night, 8/7, so my LCD dreams have been officially crushed. Oh well, hard to be too sad when we're just a week out!
Griz tickets on sale at...
haha I know... I'm getting less optimistic.
Jauz night show added at the Indy 8/6.
Agreed - Jeselnik is a great upgrade!
The Forest Feast thing is actually $175/person(!) - and you have to buy in pairs. No thanks. Pretty pointless when the fest is full of great food options....
Could they even fit everyone + their gear on that stage?
LCD is doing two Lolla after shows at the Metro in Chicago. It was teased yesterday, and announced at 10am today with tix on sale at 11am, and sold out fast.
There's still nothing listed on the...
Yessss this makes the odds of a post-Outside Lands show or two much more likely. How big is the Metro? The Independent still doesn't have anything booked 8/6 or 8/7.
Was Mac Sabbath ever officially listed on the lineup? I could be wrong but I thought the Gastro stage and that little one up by Wine Lands didn't have acts listed until set times came out.
Nothing Saturday or Sunday night at the Independent yet is interesting... wonder if there's something in the works.
that $1350 Dreams Tulum package is also only for 3 nights vs. 4 nights.
Apologies if someone already posted this afterparty:
8/5: Hot Chip (DJ Set) & Juan Maclean (DJ set) + More TBA @ Public Works
Really curious what the night shows will be. I agree that next week...
Wristbands are on their way - just got my tracking info.
Thanks to you and braundiggity for the correction - I had no idea! I'll consider myself lucky I haven't had to find that one out the hard way.
Stubhub is as legit as it gets for buying secondary tickets - they have the seller's credit card information so you are guaranteed to get what you purchased.
With that said... nearly $300 for a...
yeah, it sounds amazing but just not really doable. I'm curious how it will sell. I'd imagine those $1890 rooms will be the first to go, and even if I had an extra $2k+ laying around to spend next...
Packages are not cheap... to stay on-site the best option is $1890/person x4 people. But it is all inclusive. I wish there was a way I could justify doing this but...
I'm going to have a hard time thinking of it as anything other than Mighty. I just hope they keep a similar feel to the place and don't go the Vegas-style/bottle service route.
It's getting "remodeled and transformed" into a new venue called The Great Northern. Same guys who run Monarch are taking over.
