    Re: Treasure Island 2015

I'm almost positive those AHJ dates simply refer to The Strokes' appearances at those festivals. Only SF would be a solo show in the same city as a fest, if the Strokes play TI.

    ::EDIT:: Nevermind...

    Re: Treasure Island 2015

I'd love to see the Strokes, but it doesn't look like he's doing solo sets in the same cities as the Strokes fests (no solo set in Barcelona, DC, or Austin), so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Burrit Room is maybe my favorite cocktail bar in the city - on the second floor of the Mystic Hotel downtown. Local Edition is pretty good, though it can take forever to get a drink, and I'd...

Which tune is that? Honest question. I looked on YouTube this morning and couldn't find one I recognized. I get that they're huge, but they're not mainstream.

For me, it's because she headlined Glastonbury, and I believe got rave reviews for it. And everybody likes Beyoncé. She's probably the most agreeable female pop star they could nab.

Re: Possible Headliners For 2016 By Genre

One article in which Paul T is polite about the idea of Katy Perry playing does not make her a potential headliner. Diplo's been weirdly anti-Coachella for awhile. Muse is way too soon. Jack Johnson...

    Re: What a shit show

Friday is essentially 13.5 hours (2pm to 3:30am). That's about even with Coachella's Friday. Saturday is maybe an hour longer or so, but that's it. Sunday is less than 12 hours, which is shorter than...

After looking at Bonnaroo's schedule, complaining about gaps at Coachella becomes absolutely fucking hilarious.
  17. Re: Coachella pro tip: weekend two is always better. Less hype. Better sets

Yes - killer dust storm that night, left an inch of dust all over the backyard of the house we rented. It was awful.
  18. Re: Coachella pro tip: weekend two is always better. Less hype. Better sets

No, there was no dust storm. Just a constant light breeze that meant a bit of dust in the air. This year, W1 at least, was delightful.

    Re: What a shit show

  21. Re: Coachella pro tip: weekend two is always better. Less hype. Better sets

Agreed with Guy in Tuscon. I had a wonderful time weekend one this year, and I have no idea what "kinks" people think needed to be worked out. The only act I found overcrowded was Odesza; from Sylvan...

I think it'd be bigger than the Dan, but smaller than any of the headliners this year.

    But it'd also be awesome.
  23. Re: Coachella pro tip: weekend two is always better. Less hype. Better sets

If you'd gone Weekend 2 that year when it was 107 degrees each day, you'd get the cooler temp hype. Upper-80's/low-90's is perfect.

Exactly. I think the changes they'll make won't involve the...
