This should be interesting:
The Avalanches were a party once they shook off the cobwebs after the first ten minutes or so. A little sloppy, sure but it was a fine return. I'll be excited to see them again when they get more...
They opened the gate to the triangle area at 5 til 1 and it was free for all full of drunk angry people flooding in. Security had no idea what was going on and there was definitely nothing VIP about...
Suede were fantastic last night and a great kick off for my Primavera. We missed the last tram at midnight which totally sucked and there were no cabs.
Got a great spot for Air for a delightful...
Flying out on the 29th and staying in Fort Pienc.
Yeah, I noted the Slog article in my post too but I'm not sure what the capacity of Memorial Stadium has to do with the poster's legitimacy. Why wouldn't they put Macklemore in KeyArena?
Suspicious lineup poster.
Haha, it's all good. I'm not sure if I've met you or this "Jeff" but will hopefully do so in Barcelona.
Eh, am I being confused with a Jeff?
I'm in for VIP as well. We secured a totally reasonable Airbnb in the Fort Pienc neighborhood which looks to be fairly close to the festival site and with a sweet view of the Sagrada Familia. Now to...
Except for the Beastie Boys:
in reference to:
Yeah, it was. I guess that experiment didn't go over so well. I preferred the 99 set on the field which (I think) was Darren Emerson's last show with them.
I wonder how wide of a margin there was between almost selling out weekend tickets and potential financial ruin. The day ticket sales must have been seriously off the mark to kill the whole festival....
If their twitter feed is to be believed, ticket sales were doing alright:
ALICE BOMAN // ANA SIA // ANTHONY PARASOLE // ANTIVJ // ANTIVJ + MURCOF // ARCA + JESSE KANDA // ASC // AVALON EMERSON // BLACK ASTEROID // BLUE HAWAII // BRIAN LYONS // CLAPTONE //...
More on the end of Kutsher's and some contrasts between ATP and Coachella
It appeared to be three of them up there.
The Animal Collective DJ set last night was a lot of fun. I had no idea what to expect but they put together an eclectically groovy set, performed from behind a white scrim with filtered projections...
Happy belated b-day, oh keeper of the board birthday wishes and mostly relevant image search results.
4-18 Seattle @ Neumos http://dbfestival.com/event/orb-w-nordic-soul-neumos
What was wrong with Kutsher's?
Moby added as a headliner.
Flosstradamus, Green Velvet, Zola Jesus, Art Department too.
Or a Tuesday or Thursday.
Sure, the number of festivals seems to get crazier every year but for those who live in the northwest this is the only major event of this type that's (relatively) easily accessible. I'm sure they...
I don't understand the negative reactions to this. It's now essentially two completely different festivals that happen at the Gorge a month and a half apart from one another. This year sold out...
Seems like something ATP would do.
My mind, you read. I'm seriously considering this one. If my calculations are right, this works out to ~$500 for passes with accommodations for 2 people. Am I reading this wrong? Flights aren't...
A belated thanks to y'all. I was crabby about noisy fireworks at midnight because I'm old(er) now.
Ariel Pink and friends last night was fantastic. I really didn't know what to expect from this guy and had heard of his notorious break downs on stage but him and his band were totally on point....
Wow, thanks Orbital. A great career spanning set with the obvious classics mixed with new stuff. I was front and center and glad to see them again after at least a decade. A nice kickoff to my db...
Looks like last night's Vancouver setlist was exactly the same as what we got in Seattle on Tuesday:
Lion in a Coma
It seemed to be around 90 minutes or so but I didn't check the exact times.
So here's the full set, according to setlist.fm
Lion in a Coma
Cool kickoff show tonight, rowdy crowd of kids up front. The inflatable stage setup looked great. Songs that I can remember off the top of my head: Applesauce, Honeycomb, Lion in a Coma, Brother...
Dawnguard came out for PC on August 2nd.
Marymoor Park for me and it was a lovely evening following up on seeing Sigur Ros the previous evening at Edgefield.
11 oz. bottles with a rebus in the cap
A nice tribute to the band he inadvertently created and his home in NYC. There were people dancing, cheering and tearing up here at the Cinerama.
Decibel did an after hours (10 p.m. - 4 a.m.) thing in the Exhibition Hall last year but I haven't seen any announcements about the lineup this year.
Gotye added as a subheadliner. Whoop-de-do.
I'll be rocking my Nathanial Hörnblowér shirt tonight in his honor. It only comes out for special occasions and, well, this is a day for it.
Has anyone seen a show at Edgefield? I've been there twice, but not to see a show so I'm wondering what the amphitheater is like. The place is amazing and I'm thrilled to have an excuse to return.
