That was the most glorious sunrise.
I had a blast at Dustaroo.
My crew and I forewent the extra night of partying on Wednesday night, which was a wise decision. One last shower and night of sleep in an actual bed at the hotel were...
I've never participated in the VIP food program, so I can't tell you if it's worth the $200 or not, but I wouldn't pay that unless you have some very strict dietary guidelines you're trying to adhere...
Physically, you sound more prepared than me, haha...and you definitely have the right attitude. :)
One more thing though. If you're driving, make sure to fill up before you get in line for the...
Word. The festival grounds at Bonnaroo are fairly large, so you will be doing a LOT of walking, especially if your campsite is far from Centeroo.
Yeah, it was still pretty warm and muggy out during the night last year. It got cool during the night in '09 (which was great), but I never felt cold.
Yo Peppers, this thread is a pretty awesome guide for just about any outdoor camping fest.
For Bonnaroo, I'd stress...
Maybe this year, once he's ushered the crowd onstage, he'll be crushed by the ensuing dogpile, or failing that, inhale an errant balloon.
...and miss Dave? No way, bro.
Excellent photos, sir. I love random dude's checkered mohawk.
Oh, how I wish I could say I had a plane ride to Palm Springs airport to catch tomorrow morning. :(
I hope everyone attending this year has a truly bitchin' weekend.
Have fun, y'all. :)
Very satisfied with the late night picks, though the lack of MMJ is kind of a bummer. I initially wanted EITS to play late-night as well, but I think they'd actually be great to wind down with on...
What do you guys think the probability of an APC add is? Bonnaroo would fit rather nicely into that huge gap between their first two tour dates.
Holy shit - almost the two month mark...so amped.
I'm diggin' the scheduling so far. Most of my must-sees are nicely spaced out.
...and yeah, Bonnaroo rocks.
This is really odd, considering MMJ is practically Bonnaroo's spokesband. I would have thought they'd play a late-night set after Arcade Fire ala Jay-Z, post-Stevie. Ah, well.
^ I hate to say it, but I pretty much expect it to happen.
...and I wonder if Lil Wayne is going to bring all of Young Money with him.
Ah, cicadas...the sound of heat.
Word. He's definitely going to need protective custody - not that child molesters deserve it. Scumbag.
Speaking of deceased emcess, anyone here a Big Pun fan? I know he brought up Fat Joe (:puke), but I've been re-listening to Capital Punishment for the past few days - forgot how good that album is.
What I meant was, even if you were thirteen, wouldn't you look at those lyrics and say "fun, fun, fun, fun? wow, this is really stupid". If I were trying to get a headstart on a musical career, I'd...
I think Rebecca is going to wish she had done likewise in a few years - that video is going to be such an embarassment. Also, if I were thirteen, I would never expect this song to be taken seriously....
I finally beat my computer at Chess Titans recently. This calls for celebration.
I don't mean to threadjack, but I just wanted to pop in to let anyone who's considering buying an e-cig know that I haven't smoked a normal cigarette since I got mine, and I was a pack-a-day smoker....
Wow - it really does. It could be a tad bit more depressing though.
Got to have my bowl. Got to have cereal.
Canexplain, what does "cr****" mean?
The intro sounds like a gathering of tribal warriors, sounding battle horns as part of a pre-war ceremony.
That'd be cool though. I was considering going to see it after Battle: L.A. this weekend, but you're...
She is in the movie, after all?
Excellent track. Still kicking myself.
I could understand complaints from within Centeroo last year, because the Lunar Stage was LOUD - major soundbleed, but yeah...why complain about it in camping? If there wasn't a constant thump...
L.I.E. was excellent. It always irked me that it received an NC-17 rating.
Got it today! This thing rocks - I definitely recommend it to anyone that's trying to quit or doesn't want to get cancer. I also recommend a PG based e-fluid...feels exactly like a normal cigarette.
This thread is a pretty awesome guide for any outdoor camping festival:
Agreed. The questions and answers are both way too broad. But anyway...
Ooh, I forgot about The Decemberists. How are they live? I was going to see them in '09, but they were late and I was exhausted, so I went back to camp to rest up for a little while.
Hey BeeII, I ordered one of the basic no-box kits and a 10ml bottle of e-fluid. I was just wondering, since I noticed the USPS was the only delivery method, how long I can expect for it arrive, and...
How about People Under the Stairs in '09? That was great set. I remember it rained really hard that night, and my crew made it inside the tent right as the rain started to pick up, and everyone was...
Not the music, but as far as the dancers go, I can't really see any other point to their inclusion - lol. Why deny it.
For the Shpongletron? That'd be much cooler actually.
Word. The crowds are always the craziest on Thursday night too. This is going to blow some people's minds.
^ As far as I can tell, according to the official site anyway, your card is just automatically charged for $50 each time a payment is due...doesn't say anything about being able to put down extra...
So, I know there's still acts to be added, but who are your guys' top five so far?
I'm really looking forward to:
1) Buffalo Springfield - I can't wait for the epic sing along that will...
Haha, wow - fuck that. I'd make it a point to clean the kitchen or make my lunch as loudly as possible.
I vote yes. Our incredibly awesome neighbor in '09 made us bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches every morning, which was very cool, considering we could avoid lines and having to spend money. Just FYI...
Ugh, right? I really wish MMJ were playing Sunday night so they could close out the fest unopposed, but alas, I'm sure that's where WSP will be stepping in.
...and "Square Dance" is going to...
Ah, my bad. I've never made it that close for a main stage act.
If you know how to maneuver, it's not difficult to get a good spot without having to wait a long time in advance (unless you want a spot at rail). Last year, I started out in the very back for Stevie...
True, true. I was surprised by how close we got for Jay-Z's set last year, and by how much free space we had.
It did take us thirty minutes to get out of the main stage area though...
There's always a massive crowd at What Stage, save for early in the morning.
Haha - I think AC/Superfly is trying to usher in a homecoming this year. WSP, Buffalo Springfield, MMJ, String Cheese, Robert Plant, Allison Krauss, Primus, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Greg Allman,...
