Coolio performing It Takes a Thief.
I'm always confused when I see a comment such as "I really like this new direction Drake is headed in". It. all. sounds. the. same.
I keep reading comments like this and it tells me all I need to know about Drake. If he's relying on guests to make his show memorable then I'm fine with skipping his set.
Do you feel like Our Lady Peace would be out of place on the lineup? Not comparing them to Lights at all, but just a solid canadian band with a pretty deep catalog at this point.
I did this after Arcade Fire 2011 coming down from an amazing shroom trip. Ended up helping others push their cars that were stuck in the sand. Had to jump a 10 foot fence to get back into the Tent...
If I can find a reasonably priced ticket the week before I'll go.
06 is just stupid good. I wish I knew what I know now in 2010. Favorite I attended was 2011. But I had the most fun in 14...go figure.
Bonnaroo agrees. Out of nowhere. I dig it.
Good stuff. Appreciate that historic perspective that not all of us have.
Run The Jewels
War on Drugs
Is this the type of performance we can expect from him and his special guests? If this is it, he's not going to gain anyone's respect like Kanye did. I feel like Nicki was going to fall asleep on...
They're in the same exact spot Two Door Cinema Club was in 2013. Third line in the middle. I like their stuff, but my god is it super chill. And the second album is even slower than the first.
An interesting read. http://grantland.com/features/the-american-band-championship-belt/
Jimmy Eat World and AFI played. Why shouldn't Offspring play?
I saw them weekend 2 and really couldn't get into them either.
Outkast "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik". Only because I didnt see it on W1's setlist. Love that song.
Also Muse playing "Bliss". Seen them several times and they have never played it before....
Basically mine as well. Shuffle the order a bit and replace Darkside with ZZ Ward. Only because I didnt see Darkside though :/
Yup, a turd playing guitar is still a turd.
A bunch of awesome shit. A little bit of so-so shit. And very little terrible shit. I also slipped in shit in the porta potty first thing on friday morning. My weekend went up from there.
Maybe mine too. So good.
It was a far bigger crowd in 2010, but that may have had to do with clusterfuckchella in general. Queens crowd was also small on saturday which is a fucking shame. I'm glad your friend enjoyed it....
Pharrell was fine for what he is. I watched some of the weekend 1 clip and he sounded dreadful, so like outkast, i had super low expectations going in. It was just radio hit after radio hit, like...
2. Arcade Fire
3. Queens of the Stoneage
5. ZZ Ward
HM: Capital Cities, Outkast, Chromeo, The Preatures, Unlocking the Truth, Bombay Bicycle Club
Pretty sure they closed with Knights on weekend 1. Unless they cut out early or something.
Sore throat checking in here. It just started this morning though. The adrenaline of the weekend has finally subsided and my body is like "what. did. you. do"
I couldn't disagree more about BBC. Granted I've never seen them before but they were one of my favorite surprises of the weekend. I thought the tent had a lot of energy and responded well to their...
His voice. He literally couldn't sing anymore hence the extended riffs. He looked almost sick up there as well, maybe he was drunk. I'm pretty sure Dom spoke to the crowd more than he did.
Yup, good times were had. Biggest surprise of the weekend for me by far.
Read a comment on reddit where someone was actually pissed at Arcade Fire because they ran from Disclosure to see fake robots only to lose their friends in the crowd for the rest of the festival....
It was my first weekend 2 and I'll never do weekend 1 again. I have zero complaints and having insight from weekend 1 attendees helped out immensely. I never would've of seen Capital Cities (still...
Capital Cities surprised the shit out of me. I'd heard good things from weekend 1. I tried to get a few friends to come with me, but didn't press too hard because it's Capital Cities for fucks sake....
I think this was my favorite set of the weekend. How can you not appreciate the thought and production that went into this show. I don't like calling anything epic, but I can't think of another word...
I don't think I've ever felt worse watching a musician perform prior to this show. When he softly said "I wish I could" in Stockholm Syndrome rather than the usual scream, it just got to me. The way...
It's like a laxative. An awesome cheesy, greasy laxative.
HA! I'm skipping Chromeo (i've seen them twice, both great) to catch this and Bonobo for the reasons he stated. Shit...douche city here I come.
Dude who cares. It doesn't matter.
All these mixed to poor reviews make me really appreciate what Dre, Snoop and friends did even more. Especially as a one off. Pretty special stuff. Still looking forward to seeing Outkast this...
Doesn't look like it. Major disappointment. No Bliss, New Born, Citizen Erased, Muscle Museum. Hell I'd take Feeling good over something like Resistance. But Matt's voice is shot. You can see/hear it...
*very important side-note noted.
To me, this particular knife show is no different than what empire of the sun is doing. Except empire has a clear lead and is faking the instruments. Both are just...
How much Of disclosure/arcade fire did you have to miss to see both sets?
After watching those live performance videos, instead of seeing the Knife, I'll be spending an hour in a luke warm portapotty taking a shit.
Am I doing this right?
My fiance is on the Bastille train as well. We agreed that we would split up and it would be no big deal come festival time. But then the set times came out and there is absolutely nothing that I'm...
Only $20,000? That's a cheap get for Lacoste. Good for them.
Every speculative post or thread I see about Saturday sucks ass. There's no way getting around it...I need to clone myself.
My 19 year old self in a shitty 88 Buick with tinted windows, kenwood deck, 6 disc changer, MTX blue thunder amp with 10" JL Audio's would not allow me to miss this set.
Mogwai. And of course Lana.
My thoughts exactly. Nothing really unique to any other festival in the last 5 years. It's a strong lineup all the way down, but nothing blows my or Dolly Parton's tits off.
A whole page arguing when City and Colour is going to play? Jesus you guys are bored.
Opening with New Born = not fucking around.
