i'll show you a pic
just won tickets at Donut Friend to see Mineral at the Roxy on friday with Into It. Over It opening. extremely excited right now.
oh shit is your name vulcan death grip as in...
ahhhh i really wish i went to that show. also Into It. Over It. with Owls was another great one i missed. Gonna see Into It. Over It opening for Mineral later this year though, that should be cool....
hell yeah, REALLY good live too, saw him at Growing Up is Dumb fest and it was one of the better sets. can't wait for this show.
probably gonna be the best emo show in LA all year
Alex G @ The Echo - Sept. 17
BADBADNOTGOOD @ The Echoplex - Oct.11
Empire! Empire! (I was a lonely estate) @ Los Globos - Oct.12
Dads @ Chain Reaction - Nov.10
The World is a Beautiful Place & I...
if you're into power pop with a little fuzz to it, check out Tony Molina's 'Dissed and Dismissed'
I am also glad that the set was good, considering that they're one of my favorite bands ;-)
<3 ____ <3
: - )
your reaction image really showed me ;-)
i dont get the hate for Joyce Manor on this board
then again, I have a bias since they're one of my favorite bands.
nice! wish i saw Darkside, they were amazing at Coachella and that's probably the last time I'll be able to see them.
yeah i was sitting in the back waiting for Balance and Composure. they were pretty tight, for some reason i wasn't expecting them to be good performers.
anybody have good pictures from the fest?
My top 5 sets of the weekend:
1. Built To Spill
2. Ty Segall
3. Future Islands
5. Joyce Manor
honorable mentions: Balance and Composure, Earl Sweatshirt, Twin Peaks, Boris
very optimistic about them opening up the seats! i might wanna be sitting during Jamie XX because of how tired i'll be. also, i might want to get into Jamie XX lol
line was so fucking crazy to get in, i had to cut thru the gate because i was not gonna miss Joyce Manor. oh yeah, also Joyce Manor ended in time to see the end of Slint--saw them do the last song...
i dont think i've been this excited since my 1st coachella
Burger Records is gonna also now be there slangin tapes. Good to hear, maybe they'll have the s/t Ty Segall album, I think that's the only Burger Records affiliated FYF act this year.
; - )
metro day passes went up to $7 recently
looks like FYF isn't worth it anymore
i'll probably end up seeing the strokes for old times sake. comedown machine, angles, and first impressions are pretty bad albums but you gotta think they'll end with some stuff from the first 2...
here's what it looks like i'll be seeing
Conan Mockasin -> Joyce Manor -> (end of) Slint -> Real Estate -> Avey Tare -> Future Islands -> Run The Jewels (partial) -> Slowdive -> Caribou...
i did that at Burgerama, Viva Pomona, and Growing Up is Dumb this year. great festival tactic.
i love joanna newsom :-( ys is a classic
and yes im confirmed as a joyce manor fanboy and...
your meme makes me disregard everything you say
also i know you guys probably think Joyce Manor is just -cool- but I'd probably say that they're my favorite band in the world right now. people...
honestly im probably gonna watch Joyce Manor and leave a little early for the last 15 of Slint, or even more Slint if JM finishes early. they have a 40 minute set but at their headlining set at the...
it sucks that Joyce Manor and Slint are at the same time. I know that Slint playing live is rare, and I do really love Spiderland, but Joyce Manor is my favorite band. I just saw them for the 3rd...
you're a bad person
i like this one better
bands we will not get: american football
they're not gonna keep doing shit, just wanted to cash in on the reissue and now mike's gonna get back to doing Owen, Owls, and T/T/T stuff
Origami is a pretty cool store--overpriced though. I would've rather seen Vacation Vinyl run a tent
Seinfeld themed stages would be the greatest thing this festival has done
1. LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening
2. The World is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid To Die - Whenever, If Ever
3. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
4. Joyce Manor -...
ah ok. good thing i'm under 21 and won't be getting 'arrested'
; ~ )
what is this beerjail you speak of?
does "damn" mean you expected someone else to play?
yeah that was pretty tough to read. im just gonna try closer to the festival again, the activation might not be up and running quite yet...
tried to activate my wristband
"we couldn't find an item with that number"
...was i duped by frontgate?
when my wristband wasn't able to be delivered, i called frontgate and they said...
Personally, I love both of those bands, but I agree with what you're saying.
DSU is sooooooo good.
thanks, ill be contacting them today :+]
Ty Segall is gonna be so fun..saw his other band FUZZ at Viva Pomona and they totally brought it. I still haven't listened to the new Boris record but I'm super excited for them. Also, the new Joyce...
probably just gonna take the metro from the valley, i would assume parking to be a nightmare
to be honest i think i liked his performance at Burgerama better. a longer set was nice here, but i feel like Burgerama had more energy. last night was still a great show though.
1. Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Pinata
2. Joyce Manor - Never Hungover Again
3. Alex G - DSU
4. Andrew Jackson Jihad - Christmas Island
5. The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to...
