Why close beer garden so early?
Not allowing anyone into beer garden an hour before bands done playing does not work for me.

Re: Why close beer garden so early?
must be a troll.... right?
Tom, you're feed back is needed.

Re: Why close beer garden so early?
Thanks. Just seemed it closed early this year. Couldn't even get in.

Re: Why close beer garden so early?
They just need to get rid of the beer gardens all together.
Let people walk around with their $7 beer for fuck's sake.

Re: Why close beer garden so early?
Because cave man drink much beer.

Re: Why close beer garden so early?
beer garden security was the strictest security i faced all weekend , and that includes ontario airport
-
Re: Why close beer garden so early?
Beer garden security checked our bag one time on Friday. Didn't check again all weekend. Why it didn't occur to us to try pouring our beer into our old Coachella water bottles until Sunday night is beyond me, but oh well. There is always next year.
Any idea what the consequences are if they catch you trying to smuggle beer out of the garden?

Re: Why close beer garden so early?
What was it 11pm on Friday/Saturday and 10pm on Sunday? Bullshit. Get rid of the fences, beers anywhere. Learn from OutsideLands.
-
Re: Why close beer garden so early?
I imagine the beer jails are a condition of their agreement with Indio or something.
-
Re: Why close beer garden so early?
They stopped serving at 11pm both Friday and Saturday night and stopped people from entering at 10:30pm. Too early.
-
Re: Why close beer garden so early?
TomAZ they allow beer to be moved around freely at Stagecoach so its not a local law or anything.
-
Re: Why close beer garden so early?
Understood. Stagecoach draws a different (older) demographic. The possibility of underage drinking is much more real at Coachella. So maybe it's a liquor license thing? dunno. But I really doubt GV is doing it just because they want to.

Yeah I am sure there is something behind it. I bet they would sell more beer if it wasnt gardened. I spent a lot more at Stagecoach on alcohol than I did at Coachella. Mostly cuz I was just sitting in my seat and drinking, not really running around and catching bands at different stages. I also wasnt camping so didnt get to pre game.

that doesn't mean they aren't directly related to the city's concern about young people being too fucked up to drive.
edit - yeah underage drinking probably concerns them more with coachella, too.

That's weird, on Sunday night I was able to buy/drink late into the Chili Pepper's set from the beer garden to the left of the main (near the ferris wheel).

Re: Why close beer garden so early?
I think of the mess all the cups would make at every stage. People are dicks and throw their shit on the ground. If its contained it's more manageable.

Yeah its already a bad enough landmine field of water bottles...just dont step on the closed ones :P Maybe it would balance out, less bottles more cups. One downside would be the amount of times some drunk ass spills beer on you moving through the crowds.

Re: Why close beer garden so early?
it's because they have no where else to place all the f'n money. They made $400 billion on beer sales alone.
Damn, they were pulling $9 beers left and right...at about $200 per 5 seconds if you watched the full bar. (That's roughly 20 beers at a time on the rail)
They pulled in MILLIONS
