It doesn't really matter for this particular question because the questioner was asking about camping. The rules are no outside food or beverages, which includes bottles of water so they weren't going to be bringing water bottles into the festival anyway (though, again, sometimes security guards do not see them, don't know the rule or decide not to follow the rule so every year some people are able to bring them in.)
Edit: I was wrong about camelbaks. The rules have been changed and now they are allowed in empty.
Do they frisk you at all upon entering camp and event grounds, for both men and women?
I'm 99% certain of the answer to this but I better check just to make sure. I know the merch booth normally accepts debit cards. I imagine the Zia tent probably does as well? Correct?
I always take a photo on my phone containing a friend's name and contact info (along with a message about being lost) and use it as my lock screen. If my phone gets lost, nobody can get through the password, but they can still see a name and number to contact in order to return my phone.
Yay for the kindness of strangers.
In 06 someone walked up to me in the food court and handed me my camera. They had looked through the photos and spotted my friends. Renews my faith in humanity.
please explain how having to walk far and being frisked related.
and yes, they frisk men and women and check bags.
Coachella newbie but speaking from Bonnaroo experience, it can be handy to freeze bottles of water to use in the cooler! We tried putting them down as the bottom layer then putting our food on top and filling with extra ice. So nice to have the icy water later. Remember to open and pour a little out before you freeze though.
what's the best budget food to take to coachella if no cooler/grill?
