Either way, I would say that the search feature is rousing success, eh?

Let me guess....you think AF, Kings of Leon and the Black Keys are better than NIN! Jack Johnson + The Killers are about the same as NIN. :thu

Nine Inch Nails has confirmed ten final dates after which the NIN live experience will go on indefinite hiatus.
As always, a significant percentage of the best tickets for the shows will be reserved for exclusive pre-sale on NIN.com. In this case, NIN.com pre-sale will include every ticket for the most intimate farewell shows at New York's Bowery Ballroom and Webster Hall and Los Angeles' Henry Fonda Theater and Echoplex.
NIN.com pre-sales will begin July 17 with general on-sales following July 31.
The Horrors will support the August 22, 23 and 25 New York dates. Mew will support August 28 in Chicago and September 2 and 3 in Los Angeles. Support for the remaining dates will be announced at a later date.

Getting right to the point, we're going to play a handful of shows in NYC, Chicago and LA starting August 22nd. They will be informal affairs in medium to small venues with longer set-lists, possible special guests, cool openers and other surprises. Upon reflection, the NIN/JA tour felt like we had to rush through sets due to a limited allotted set length and many shows were in daylight - it just didn't feel right to end NIN that way. An offer to headline V-Fest in Toronto (being announced soon) set the idea in motion to play some FUN shows to end this up with. If we can get it together we'll film these shows, too.
In NYC we'll be playing Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall and Terminal 5. In Chicago, the Aragon Ballroom. In LA we'll be at The Wiltern, The Henry Fonda, The Palladium and The Echoplex. These should be cool, unusual and unique shows and I hope you come out - this is it.
So far, The Horrors will be joining us for some shows in NYC, Mew will be with us at other shows in NYC, Chicago and LA, and perhaps more.
Details and ticket info will be announced shortly, so check back.
Thanks,
Trent

Some French band that got huge after 1901 single even though they released three full lengths before that. I liked them in 2009 because they made room for me to enjoy Pavement for the first time! Oh and their guitarist used to be in a band with Daft Punk and the rest is history....

Shit... if anything I'd think they'd be thankful for the opportunity those Wave Goodbye shows offered... I mean seeing NIN at a 500 capacity venue (Bowery Ballroom) was a hell of an experience! And I know I'm personally thankful I had that opportunity. (Sure, it didn't top the four shows I saw in 94/95... but it was still a hell of a show)...

They DON'T send every fucking piece of ad material to artists (even headliners) for approval. That would drain far more resources than EITHER of them have available. You think either of them want to spend hundreds of hours going back and forth to approve/disapprove/edit/re-submit/re-approve all the ads? Jesus christ you're fucking dense.
If there are advertising restrictions insisted upon by the band, they're in the contract. Otherwise, the promoter does whatever the fuck they want, and the burden is on the artist to complain if they think they're inaccurate or otherwise objectionable.
Were Trent and his managemet aware of the posters? Probably. Did they allow that type of advertising of a final tour to go on without complaining about it/stopping it? Yes. Did they actually write the copy or "approve" the posters for VirginFest? Not a chance.
I don't know any long-time NIN fans that actually believed those shows were the absolute final end of NIN. All the talk and interviews he gave around the time made it sound like he was just tired of it and wanted to do something else for a while. No way did most of his fans believe they would never see NIN perform again....and any who did believe that either didn't know shit about NIN in the first place, or they were pretty goddamn naive about how the music industry works and how much NIN is a part of his identity.
Let me guess Bumblebee....when a band "ends" their main set and says "goodnight everyone, thank you!" are you the dipshit that actually takes that as genuine? And do you subsequently whine about false advertising when they come out for an encore?
Can we all agree to blame Canada for this?

NIN note: As someone who went to the Wave Goodbye shows; I don't think NIN will ever play the Downward Spiral in its entirety live for a very long time, if ever again.

Don't you just feel your ''attempt'' at the line up pool this year just looks pretty shitty now in retrospect? Dont keep crying into your pillow cause youll have to wait another year to try again.

Strange comment from someone who got fewer of the headliners right. You might tie or win by a nose if you're lucky.
