Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
So Tegan and Sara still in despite the Feb 1st show in Los Angeles?
-
Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
M83 played with 2 January shows. They are obviously far more popular then Tegan and Sara, but doesnt count em out just yet. That show is at Club Nokia, a Goldenvoice venue.

The Source says:
Sigur Ros -> Blur -> Neil Young
Yeah Yeah Yeahs -> Atoms For Peace -> NIN
Stone Roses -> The Killers -> Daft Punk

That is an excellent lineup, even for the stuff i don't like..it just looks right.
it'd also be the first year i watched more than one headliner.

The Killers sub-headlining would make me laugh.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more Neil Young talk. He's rumored/wishlist-ed every year, and he's playing New Zealand at the end of March

Could be a Kanye West/The Strokes situation on the lineup.

Yeah dude, Daft Punk finally says yes and plays and GV makes them "co-headline" with the Killers. Sure.

how cruel would it be to make us sit through the Killers... I can only see Atoms For Peace in that slot.

Chella or no chella? Could just be one of the bands around the socal area at the same time. Youth Lagoon from last year comes to mind.

thought it was weird how there hasn't been much Neil talk this year, especially with him being fairly active lately

the last thing we need is the shitelife at chella...

I'd enjoy this. I would probably skip out and hit a tent on Saturday night though. I wonder who would take A$AP's set.
LOL. Just noticed the name of the person who posted this.

Kanye made more sense as a sole headliner than Daft but they made him share the top line.
Plus Daft would be the first EDM act to be top billed at a mainstream music festival in the US. Killers placate the non-EDM fans plus the band can still be a top billed rock act with egos in check.

Hard to punch holes in this one. Killers/Neil did their last full LA area shows more than 6 months before the festival.
Killers are Fri/Sat in Mexico City which would mean they will travel with minimal production beyond instruments. Screens/lights/lasers would have to be at Indio while the band is still in Mexico as that has to be hung/tested before doors open at 11 am. Killers have let themselves be 2nd billed at other festivals.
Lastly, I would watch all these sets though some I may only do 30 minutes.

Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
so
2009: Neil drops out because killers are bookd to headline in lieu of him.
2011: Neil drops out because arcade fire is booked to headline in lieu of him.
2012: Thom Yorke sings part of After the Gold Rush on the Polo Fields
2013: headliner.

Swap out Bjork for The Killers and QOTSA for Stone Roses and we have a winner.

by your 'definition', are there ANY fests in the US that you would call 'mainstream' other than Coachella or Bonnaroo?
because obviously, Lollapalooza doesn't count to u.
or EDC, or Ultra, or Vegoose, or BM or Sasquatch..
