Re: Fitchella 2013 It's GO TIME!
I have a confession to make that's really only appropriate in this thread.
So, due to the two master cleanses and serious exercises I did pre-coachella, the not eating anything but booze and smoothies because I can't swallow anything solid because of the damn dust during coachella, and then the I'm too exhausted and sick to make dinner so I'll just stick with soups and smoothies diet post coachella, I lost like 30 lbs in two months. Since I got better, I've been totally gorging myself and gained about 5 lbs right away. The scale moves up a little every day.
While I'm happy I lost that kind of weight so fast, I'm super weak.
I live in Utah where I'm surrounded by awesome trails and people who go on those trails. I went backpacking with some friends for some late night camping, and it was insane how tired I was so fast. I've done that same hike a bjillion times and never gotten so tired so fast, even when I was at my heaviest. It was a huge wake up call for me to get back to strength training. It's pretty hilarious how much Coachella is like all around me in terms of getting ready financially, making time for it with work and school, and physically. This one was a doozy!
Earlier this week I started doing weights and finally today I got up the motivation to do both cardio and circuit training. I really hope I'll get back to a stronger me quick, and quit eating such shit. Damn BBQ parties!
I think the solution is to make a brand new work out playlist, and get to gettin' for next year.
The end.

Re: Fitchella 2013 It's GO TIME!
Coachella 2014 tickets bought! Time to show off somethin for Fitchella 2014... Im still at my lowest weight in years, 199lb, 66lb dropped since December. I took over 2 weeks off of dieting, just out of tiredness of dieting and family visiting and whatnot... I look forward to getting back to my Visalus shakes, and hopefully the scale goes down.... 170 is my goal!

Agreed. I'm already attempting to diet, and....its not going so well. I've cut back my intake, but its exercising that's getting me.
Re: Fitchella 2013 It's GO TIME!
I'm just the opposite... I've grown to really like exercise, but I'm not a healthy eater. If I had my way it'd be pizza or burgers & fries every night.
I still can't get near vegetables without wanting to gag. Supplements have been my friend.
I've dropped most of the cardio I was doing pre-Coachella, and have been focusing on lifting weights 5x a week. Raised the weight and lowered the reps so I can try to put a little more meat on the bones. I'm back up a couple pounds but that's okay, when the time comes I'll do the cardio and lose what I need.
Re: Fitchella 2013 It's GO TIME!
I started my fitchella 2014 back in march when I realized I wasn't going to reach my goals, but it's still not going as well as I'd like.

Think of it as your prep for LiB, OSL, and Austin City Limits!
You have a great summer lined up.
Re: Fitchella 2013 It's GO TIME!
So can I make a new thread? I haven't worked out in over a month (since coachella) and really need to get back in the game so I can feel good next year.
Any objections?

thanks! it's true ;)
I've been trying to use that for motivation, but I've just ran into a wall, I guess.

I object. If someone is going to start the new thread it needs to be someone who has been an active participant in this thread, not just someone who is bored one day and is posting.

Fair enough.
In my defense, however, I have been an active participant on the forums since I joined. I'm just looking for some motivation to get back in the gym and stay active on this form, and felt that becoming the OP of that thread would help me do both. That's all. I understand your concerns though.

I vote Paul B. Losing 66 lbs in 17 months shows he actually gives a shit
Re: Fitchella 2013 It's GO TIME!
I have always arranged big backpacking trips once or twice a year -throughout my life. If I don't trail hike many miles a week, to stay fit, I can't do it.
I look forward to these excursions, but I know what carrying a pack for a week involves in terms of preparation. I can't really ever totally slob out....
not any more. I am at the "use it or lose it" phase of life. So, while I'm not "ripped" or "cut" or prancing around in a bikini, I am pretty strong and have a lot of stamina, and can still eat quite voraciously. It's fun to still do things that are absolutely wonderful. I feel very fortunate that way.
I think if some form of exercise becomes a habit, even if the gratification is somewhat nebulous, then you feel a bit "off" when you neglect yourself that way. It begins to feel much worse to avoid, than to just tackle it with gusto.
I suppose it's the finding of something you love to do,but even that becomes a bit of a hate/love relationship during rough patches.
