Only then, can you tell her (or sign) that you must spread your love around the world, and not seem like an asshole. Because of magic jizz.

It's my calling. I can't change the gifts I've been given.

I probably shouldn't have laughed as much as I did at this.
I mean she probably is on the rebound and is going to find someone to rebound with anyways, no reason why you shouldn't be that person.

Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
I believe that he called someone. I was away all weekend for my friend's funeral, but he was great when I left and even better when he got me from the airport yesterday. He also had a long (hour +) phonecall with his best friend on Friday, which isn't something he'd do when he's in a sour/depressed mood. I have to trust him now, and give him time.
The good thing is that his work just picked up because the museum is doing a major installation. He'll be really busy for the next month, and he's usually in better spirits when he's occupied with other commitments. I'll be following up with him again at the end of the week to see if he got any calls back from the therapists. If not, I'm seeing his family this weekend and I might ask his mom if she and I can chat sometime soon.

Did your friend die flinging him/herself off a roof to get away from you talking about your boyfriend?

I'm usually a fan of your shenanigans, but this one is pushing the limit just a tad bit.

Wow Randy, this is beyond insensitive. You're a fucking horrible human being. That was the hardest funeral I've ever had to attend. Fuck you and your fucking need to be "controversial" on the Internet. Grow the fuck up.

Maybe I'm just getting old or something, but I agree with this. I think that's out of bounds.

I don't know if you're getting old or not Tommy, but I know you're not getting any funnier.

Is board getting mature or is Randy losing his edge?

That's fine.

I will never understand this weird thought process where death isn't a valid joke premise. You guys are doing it wrong.

Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
I thought it was one of the funniest things Randy's posted in quite a while, myself. Kat should have known better than to post sensitive shit in a public place.

Thank you, Tom. I was REALLY proud of that joke to be entirely honest. In my head I was all, "Three points, beautiful." Kinda surprised to see that reaction.

Well I personally had a friend commit suicide from depression so I personally don't find jokes like that funny. At least wait a few weeks before a joke is made not when she just got back from the funeral and still fresh on her mind.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
Will the friend stop being dead in a few weeks?
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
Alternatively, will Kat have shut the fuck up in a couple weeks?
The answer to both questions: NAY.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
I mean there could be major advances in science in the next few weeks that allow us to bring the dead back to life, but chances are that's not going to happen. However in a few weeks it won't be as fresh in her mind. Again i had a similar situation with a good friend when I was in high school so I might be just taking the joke more seriously then it needs to be.

Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
You had a similar situation? Someone killed himself to get away from you talking?
You are trying to claim that this absolutely absurd comedic hypothetical I have proposed would somehow have dragged up legitimate feelings about their death. Whether or not you've known someone who committed suicide is irrelevant--the dead person is not around to hear the joke. For you to get offended on behalf of all suicides on the grounds that I made a joke that is completely ridiculous in nature is fucking stupid.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
I'm hurt you think that way.

I'm not offended from the joke nor am I going to lose any sleep from it. I just think it's an unnecessary joke that went to far. And I think the point you make of the person being around to hear it or not is total bullshit. Just because you say a racist joke about black people in front of an entire white audience doesn't mean the racist joke is OK to begin with, regardless of any black people there to hear it or not. Whatever though I'm not trying to turn this thread into an argument about jokes.
