Looks like it definitely is...
Add in the $1000 for travel, eating, drinking, camping and recreational activities and it is still worth it by a long shot.
If you have to ask, it isnt for you ;)
VERY. My friends who think "$310" for a ticket is too much, are stupid. I always tell them that the headliners alone, playing seperately at arenas, are usually worth more than the price of a ticket. Let alone all the other dozens and dozens of bands you are going to see. Art you're going to see. People you're going to meet. Fun you're going to have. Seriously. I'm moving to NYC from AZ this summer, and after 3 coachellas in a row, I fully plan on paying that extra 500 for a plane ticket and come again 2013 if I can. Worth it.
Are you sitting front row for these three headliner shows? You can go to Radiohead and Black Keyes in Northern California in the next few months for like $40 each....
looks like i would've spent around $700 otherwise..and thats before alcohol/food/candy bars...Coachella, you're a life saver
Thinking about Coachella as a business proposition is doing it wrong.
Depends on your viewpoint. If you seldom go to live music, then Coachella (or any music festival) is a good choice to get a bigger bang for your $$$.
For me Coachella is totally worth it. I live in El Paso and we get shit for shows here. The closest places we can go to see the types of bands that headline Coachella are between 6 to 8 hours away and often during the work week. The reunion bands which are even harder to see also add to it. So to have the chance to only take a couple of days off from work and get to see all the excellent sets that we would never be able to see back at home in one weekend makes it an excellent option for us. From where we live we have the option of Coachella in April or Voodoo in October. These festivals are a one stop shop for those of us that don’t get shows very often at home.
I was under the impression that Austin Texas is one of the biggest live music scenes in America.
Am I misinformed or are you doing it wrong?
That is a really stupid site.
You also have to rule in all the schedule conflicts, It's not like you can see every band you want to.
Coachella belongs in a Mastercard commercial
my vote = yes
