I just got an email from virgin about 40th anniversary reissues in the uk. I can finally own spice girls' wannabe on vinyl.
I blame mr. bong. Impulse buy! I lost it at 3:00 mark...
Faust & Omar Rodriguez Lopez Live at Clouds Hill was recorded live at the Clouds Hill premises in Hamburg in 2012, and the 10-inch release features an improvised performance divided into two parts. The track apparently utilizes, among other things, "a chain saw and a jack hammer." The recording is available as a 10-inch on white vinyl and comes with the Live at Clouds Hill DVD, which features full-length performances from Bosnian Rainbows, Faust & Omar Rodríguez-López, Gallon Drunk, the Ape, Léonore Boulanger, the Building and Scams.
Picked up at the show tonight Tame Impala/Flaming Lips colored tour LP signed by both bands.
The LP included covers from both bands:
Flaming Lips covered Runway, House, City, Clouds & Elephant.
Tame Impala covered Are You A Hypnotist & Silver Trembling Hands.
The Arcade Fire - Reflektor
Omar S - High School Graffiti
Theo Parrish - Overyohead
Special Request - Hardcore EP
The Gun Club - Fire Of Love
Roxy Music - Stranded
Be careful installing the cart. In fact, if you're worried at all about fucking it up, it might be better to pay someone to install it on your tonearm for you.
I've got the turntable all good to go.. It's more the pre-amp and speakers set-up that's confusing me the most. Which is dumb because I feel like that's probably the easiest part?
I've never used a separate preamp before (my amp has one built in) but I always thought the preamp just went into any old RCA input on the amp.
Are you having trouble connecting the speaker wire?
Looks like The Knife finally released copies of Deep Cuts and their self titled album on vinyl. Ordered them on Amazon.
I used a $50 credit at the local record store yesterday.
Yep, preamp should be simple. Red and white from reciever to pre-amp and red and white from pre amp to turntable. Speakers should connect direct to your reciever.
I ended up getting it hooked up but it's not sounding right (humming, distortion) so I know I did something wrong. I'm just gonna call Needle Doctor tomorrow and have them walk me through it when I have more time.
This may be a silly question, but do you have the ground wire connected?
^ That was my first thought too - maybe the tonearm weight is off as well?
I just pre-ordered:
White Fence - Live in San Francisco (clear vinyl with lenticular cover)
Get it here: http://www.castlefacerecords.com/pro...-san-francisco
Well, after a bunch of delays 2 out of the 4 Butthole Surfer albums I ordered finally arrived.
Butthole Surfers - Psychic... Powerless... Another Man's Sac
Butthole Surfers - Rembrandt Pussyhorse
Drudkh - Autumn Aurora
Bay area travels:
The Band - Music From the Big Pink
Miles Davis - The Birth of the Cool
Dizzy Gillespie - The Legendary Guild and Musicraft Sides
Little Richard - The Essential Little Richard
Howlin' Wolf - The Howlin' Wolf Album
Anthrax - Spreading the Disease
Sorry I don't know where to post this but.....wow
The Kitchen Table owned by Ian Curtis the singer of Joy Division
May the 18th 1980 Ian Curtis the singer of Joy Division took his own life in the Kitchen of the house he lived in with his wife Debbie at 77 Barton Street.
Debbie Curtis then sold the house and many of its contents to a neighbour Dorothy Smith who then ran it as a B and B.
In 1996 the table was passed to Dorothy's Daughter Vicky Morgan when she got married and set up home in Macclesfield.
In December 2005 the Morgan's were redecorating and felt that the table no longer fitted in with their own home. They offered the table back to the family and contacted them via Marco of Joy Division Central.
With the filming of Control taking place in Barton Street and Natalie Curtis arranging the props the table was offered but was declined.
Natalie Curtis, Ian and Debbie's daughter was then going to take the table for her own flat but in the end decided to have one of her mums instead which belonged to her Grandmother.
At that point it went on Ebay and I travelled to Macclesfield after winning the bid.
Control then went on general release and the Legend Grew.
Included with the Table are confirmation of authenticity from Natalie Curtis, Debbie Curtis, Marco from Joy Division Central and Vicky Morgan. Also there is a four page print from a web site with pics taken inside 77 Barton Street when it was a B and B and a picture of Dorothy Smith.
The Measurements are:-
75 cm Wide
98 cm Long
76 cm Tall
Extend Flaps 28 cm each.
I easily got this table into my car, which if you have a 5 door car with seats that go down anyone else with a reasonable size car should do also.
It can be shipped abroad, but the bidder must arrange packing etc and cost themselves as I cant be arsed.
The Table is in my office but have used the original listing pic.
Clearly this table is a unique item and I have put a reserve on the Table which I think reflects its true worth.
If it doesn't sell I will merely keep it.
Bid with Confidence, any questions just ask.
oh come on. default thread or default thread: music edition.
isn't there a Joy Division thread?
The Knife s/t and Deep Cuts are both on glorious 180 Gram vinyl. It's like a slice of heaven. Also they both come with lyric sheets and now I am realizing I have sang many parts of the s/t album wrong since 2006. haha
