Tone Loc - Loc'd After Dark
I love "Funky Cold Medina."
Yeah dude! Such a hot track.
And DIY speakers? Not quite sold on that. I don't believe I could personally achieve the level of fidelity to which I'm accustomed.
Yeah, I'm not sure I'm handy enough to make them how I'd like aha. Greghead, do you have any other suggestions?
Os Mutantes - Tudo Foi Feito Pelo Sol

How to Dress Well - Set It Right/Again b/w Blue Crystal Fire
Let me know how the Aphex record sounds. If it's good, it's my next purchase. I'm listening to Selected Ambient Works Vol. 2 right now and really wishing I had Druqks instead.
Druqks is a record I very, very much wish I owned. Are there any good represses? I'm supremely out of the loop with that stuff ...
Never been repressed and it was only pressed in a ridiculously small number of 4LP box sets. I'm really fighting the urge to buy a copy on eBay for 100 bucks right now, but it's from England and the shipping will kill that good deal.
The Who - Who's Next ltd edition colored vinyl (1000) from Soundstage

Frank Ocean - Planet Orange (Germany, bootleg pressing)
The National - Virgina EP (colored vinyl)
The Smashing Pumpkins - MIFS Vinyl Box
Roy Orbison - The Orbison Way
Duane Eddy - $1,000,000 Worth of Twang
The Ventures - Play Telstar and other hits
I hit the last thrift store in Bishop today, and something I ordered showed up. Guess which is which!
Fats Domino - Lets Play (1959 mono press)
Dawnbringer - Into the Lair of the Sun God
Got a gift card to a mall that I never go to (Victoria Gardens) so i ended up going into Urban Outfitters. Found the following
Niki & The Dove - Instinct 2LP (Green vinyl exclusive)
Father John Misty - Fear Fun (Blue vinyl exclusive)
There was also the new Hot Chip 2LP on Red and Blue vinyl (exclusive?), but the sleeve was pretty banged up. Anyone know how often they get exclusives? I never go into that store, so not sure if it's worth making a trip every once in a while. There's one across the street from amoeba, but it never crosses my mind to go into it.
Woah. Yeah, I never even think to check Urban, but I do know I got an Altamont catalog from there because it had an exclusive No Age 10" once. Definitely something to check out.
Arriving today via Amazon:
The Gun Club - Pastoral Hide and Seek
The Gun Club - Lucky Jim
Never heard either. Incredibly excited.
Urban gets quite a few exclusives. Grimes Visions on purple vinyl is pretty cool. Father John Misty Fear Fun on this sweet turquoise blue, Feist's reminder on red.. some others. They also have alot of picture discs but not sure if those are exclusive. It's worth checking their website everyone once in awhile to see - they always list their exclusives on it.
Awesome, thanks for the list! Guess I will have to track down that Hot Chip at another store.
That and the Roy Orbison record that I found recently are both so goddamn good. They're both a little beat up but still sound fine and the songs man, the songs.
A few recent music purchases
Thanks again to my Secret Santa Robin for the Reservoir Dogs reissue (blue version)!
Went to Atomic today:
Miles Davis - Sketches Of Spain
Thelonious Monk - Criss-Cross
The Faces - Ooh La La
Gang Of Four - Gang Of Four EP
Chromatics - Cavecare EP (this has been sitting in their bin for months priced at $15, but they repriced it this month and I got it for $6)
Fingerprintz - The Very Dab
Adrian Belew - Twang Bar King
Frank Ocean - Channel Orange arrived today. I'm listening to it now. It's 2 LP's and the back has the full track listing with song times on the back and in the bottom corner it says "limited edition". It sounds great vocally and musically BUT there is subtle static that can be heard coming in during the quiet parts on occasion. I want to stress it's very subtle but absent on other new vinyl i've tested so it's not a dirty needle and the records are shiny clean. I'm playing it fairly loud and loving it so it's not ruining the experience at all. This was ordered on Discogs from a seller in Germany.
Girls Names - The New Life
Their new album is going to fucking RULE. I'm telling you guys, listen to this shit now.
Stars of the Lid - The Ballasted Orchestra (2013 repress, preorder)
