So they are using Paramount Theatre this year? They must have a couple of big name acts lined up.
Wasn't the biggest venue last Neumos? Which is like, what, 200 people? The Paramount holds ~5,000?
Neumos holds ~700 and The Paramount is 2,800 seated. And they're adding Showbox Market which holds ~1,100. So two markedly larger venues.... !!!
Re: Mr. KB420. Aren't the guys in Moderat parading around their respective individual projects this summer?
Argh. Excitement for you guys is dread for me. If only I could figure out how to secure an extra couple thousand dollars a year and be everywhere at once.
2011's Flirch Glob

For an idea of the kind of talent dB works with, so far this year they've put on shows featuring: Trentemoller, Mount Kimbie, Carl Craig, Beats Antique, Simian Mobile Disco, Kevin Saunderson, Robert Henke/Monolake, Ramadanman/Pearson Sound, Soul Clap, Wolf + Lamb, and James Blake.
Bookr.net doesn't event seem like a public site.
Noticed that as well. I suspect all will become illuminated by midday.
I mean, they know who we are. It's only a matter of time until they message us the secret handshake.
Early bird passes are going to be 30 percent off according to dB's Facebook.
Ok so from my understanding there's a pass that gets you admission to all the shows all week and there are tickets for individual shows. The down side to the pass for the week is that if you show up to a sold out show late you may not get in, is this correct? Do individual ticket sales go on once the shows are announced? Jeff, Forza, anyone else who has attended - what are the pros/cons of each and for someone like myself, I doubt I will be able to be in town for the shows during the week, which option would be best?
The pass got us into all the shows, workshops and events except the boat party (dB has said 'there shall be boats' in 2011) and one of the Optical events. I believe the individual showcases went on sale sometime in June. Jeff and I were taking in at least two showcases a day (slept/drank through the workshops) and then a few afterparties (which are also covered by the pass). So on the big nights you could feasibly spend around... $50 for two showcases and then another $15-20 for an afterparty.
We didn't have problems getting in to any of the shows. The Robert Henke 'vietnam' show was very packed but we managed to find seats after a minute..and we were late as fuck.
imo, pass>tickets I also forgot dB in the park.. partying under the space needle is downright awesome.
this is a very dark picture, but it gives you an idea
That is fucking awesome. Do you get access to the boat party with the pass at all or is everyone required to buy a ticket?
And uh, looks like I'm going. My girlfriend and I are getting our tickets as soon as they go on sale today. I remember really trying to make it happen last year and all the additions with venues this year makes it too good to pass up.
if you want on the boat you gotta buy a ticket
good to hear you're getting down with the dB
I might need some help from you boardies with hotel info and what not, what are the cool spots in town? Never been up to Seattle.
I'm clueless on that one... It seems that most of the showcases are in the cap hill area..
I guess I'll worry about it a little later on. Still need to book our EDC hotel too :x
I'm really excited about this. Last 2 years had stellar line ups and if they're stepping it up with bigger names, I can only imagine what craziness they'll get this year. Oh and if James Blake is on the line up, yeah...
Here we go:
Only one hour until the First Tier 2011 Decibel Festival Passes go on sale (30% discount of normal pass price). Visit http://dBFestival.com/ at noon for details.
it's such an awesome time. the best part about it is its inclusiveness. I never felt like I was just at some show corralled in with a bunch of strangers. Almost everyone I met was cool as hell, down to party and seriously in love with electronic music. The artists are hanging out, the dB people are hanging out, media folks are just kicking it... I went home with more than a dozen business cards. Fuck the opening gala was even badass...
I am very excited. I'll be 21 by then too so I'll really be able to enjoy what the city and showcases have to offer. Hope to meet a few of you boardies while up there.
It was posted just now, so it seems like noon pdt it is.
There's absolutely no way you will miss us...
I can pinpoint frenz in almost every single dB video on the web.
edit... im not even joking. I can see my stupid ass bro fisting in some... yikes
Passes up at noon*
