He only played 30 minutes at the show I saw too, and I don't think anyone in the crowd had any idea who he was or what was going on. Everyone was yapping.

It's been a while since I've been to the Fonda... there is free parking somewhat nearby, right?
Circle and circle and circle. Something may show up.
Deerhunter was a lot of fun. they started off a bit tepid but by the fourth song they were on fire. 6 songs from the new one, they did Hazel Street and Spring Hall Convert from Cryptograms and about half of Microcastle, and they closed with Flourescent Grey. I liked the slow version quite a bit. My complaint with the whole show was that I couldn't hear Josh's bass throughout a good portion of it.
Also the least chatty I've seen Bradford other than at the Forum opening for NIN. And the bubbles were really cool.
really really enjoyed the show tonight. sorry I was in a mad rush to leave afterwards I am so so sooo beat and need to sleep.
oh and I had never heard high places before but damn they were fantastic.
Yes, the show was excellent tonight. They really should close each and every show they do with Flourescent Grey, that was amazing! I didn't have a problem so much with not being able to hear Josh, but that he couldn't have looked more bored up on stage. It's like, damn, have some fun for gosh sakes.
I was curious as to how they were going to pull off Helicopter live, but they did it quite well. Casino vs. Japan was fantastic as well...had a good buzz from drinking two pints of Pliny the Elder next door, and his set was just perfect for that.
Edit: Oh and they've really only been playing for around an hour? We got just over an hour and a half out of them tonight.
Really, really great show. I wish I had more energy tonight, but it was a long weekend.
Still. Very glad I got to go. It was nice to see some of you and great meeting a few of you for the first time.
There's parking up the street in that neighbor hood
Pliny the Elder. Delicious.
loved the show tonight, almost didn't go cause i needed to study for a test but damn i'm glad i went! watched half the show downstairs, then 2nd half upstairs and really got to appreciate the lights and what not. high places was cool too. wish i had bought one of those limited posters they made for the show, but oh well. oh and the bubble gun was very "plur". haha . already can't wait for the next time i get to see them.
Yes, bubble gun was just perfect for the time it started. And yes, Hazel St got played.
Fantastic evening. Ended up wasting money on parking next door because I was sick of being in the car by the time I got there, had I looked for even a minute I would have found free parking, oh well. Wish I would have went to that bar instead of trying Roscoe's while I waited, Pliny the Elder would have been much better than food haha. My cousin got some at the restaurant he works at (he is in charge of beer), but I haven't had a chance to go and I'm not sure they still have it.
Casino vs. Japan was great. I took his advice and just listened to most of it with my eyes closed, lovely way to start the night, I really liked the last half of his set. Thought High Places were alright, I got bored by the end though and went for a cigarette. Enjoyed them more when I saw them a couple years ago. Deerhunter were wonderful yet again. Loved that version of Fluorescent Grey and that they are still doing a 10 minute or so Nothing Ever Happened. New songs sounded good. I like Desire Lines as the opener. Good to see you all, as always. Time for bed, have to get up to vote before work. Yes on 19! Goodnight.
fucking hell my mind was blown. spring hall convert, cover me/agoraphobia and the insane fluorescent grey as the encore was a highlight. c vs j and high places were great too, and thank you to the guys who smoked me out.
absolutely loved the show last night. We were sitting up top and I thought it sounded fantastic. So much better than the last time I saw them in eagle rock (and I had quite enjoyed that show as well).
Parked free in lot down the side street.. 2nd time i parked there. past ballys.
I thought it was a fucking fantastic show - one of my favorites of the year. I'm as susceptible to acoustic neurosis as anyone (see: poor review of Arcade Fire show) but I thought the sound was glorious. They left a lot of songs out that I would like to have seen, but that performance of "Fluorescent Grey" is one of the best things I've ever seen them do.
Also, fuckall'y'all - I had the parking spot literally right in front of the door.
Deerhunter were good last night but I didnt think they were nearly as solid as the last few times I saw them and they seemed less energetic overall.
Nothing Ever Happened totally slayed though...
Little Kids and Fluorescent Grey were better.
Yeah, Little Kids was really special last night. I wish they would do Calvary Scars/Aux Out again.
That reminds me of my first time seeing them. First 21+ show, day after my birthday at the Casbah. Until last night that was my favorite time seeing them. They did that wall of noise and all, it was great.
Pitchfork has video of Real Estate and Bradford covering "Mind Games" at the Slims Show in SF that I was at, if anyone's interested:

So talk to me about Deerhunter. All y'all who are more recent fans, have you gone back and listened to any of the earlier work/what do y'all think of Cryptograms? If you don't have an almost unhealthy love for Flourescent Grey ep, why not? is Rainwater Cassette Exchange worth listening to more than a few times?
First saw them 11/28/2008 at the Casbah and had been listening for some months prior, so I'm not too recent a fan, but that was Microcastle era. I started with Turn It Up though before moving on. Last.fm tells me I've listened to Microcastle the most, but Cryptograms is my favorite. Been hooked on HD lately of course, but you've made me realize I need to listen to some of their earlier stuff again/more often. Especially Fluorescent Grey, which I certainly do love, but for all it's goodness, I definitely have not spent enough time with it.
