Hey everyone, my name is Phil. i go to school in downtown Phoenix. I don't have a lot of time to make it to shows but I always use this thread for finding out about shows(in addition to other means)...so thanks. I saw a write up about this show in the New Times that I thought I should share with you. Plus tickets are only $10 right now.
I guess I need to check out this Rodriguez fellow or watch that movie.
Hi amyzzz, thanks for being welcoming.
Here's the list of bands for the Crescent show I posted above:
Hanni El Khatib
In the Valley Below
Cold War Kids
Stan Devereaux & The Funky Suns
anything awesome happen to be going on in old town tonight? i'll be dolled up for bday dinner down there
We are from New York City and are happily in Arizona. Those who complain that there is nothing to do or no major acts visit
the Valley or Arizona are lazy and not searching for anything. The Phoenix Times, eventful.com, concertful, azcentral.com,
a google.com search. The lazy will always find an excuse not to enjoy entertainment.
Is anyone planning to get to Coachella 2013 in Indio, CA?
2 nights of Jeff Mangum in a row!?
DON'T MIND IF I DO.
so one of my co-workers is the drummer for warsaw. i didn't know they are still around, but they are apparently playing with the toasters next month. i'm going :) i bought an extra ticket. anyone care to join me? not exactly the biggest toasters fan anymore, but sounds like a swell show. been ages since i've seen warsaw, probably around the time boston's was still around :x
who: toasters w/ mrs. skannotto, warsaw poland bros., liam and the ladies
when: wednesday, february 13th
where: crescent ballroom
Muse - March 16th at United Airways. Bought tickets on Friday. Anyone else going?
I put in a request for free suite seats through my work.
Also, XX just announced at the Marquee
that'd be rad, if it's big and you need people, i'd prolly be interested in pitching in on a suite. i've seen muse enough for one lifetime, but i'd go for a suite and some coachella partying :)
I won't know until about a week before the show; she usually just emails me if there are tickets left and asks me how many I want. I'll put you on my list.
I'll be Coachella'd out, but maybe that means they'll be there...
arrogant butcher. walking distance, caddy-corner (sp?) from the venue. it can be hard to get a table on a show night, but you can get food at the bar. there are a few other restaurants downtown others could recommend. you can park in that "city center" or "city scape" or something, where the arrogant butcher is located too. lots of shops and stuff there if you want to walk around. enjoy the show :)
you should plan to pay for parking. you can get some validation at arrogant butcher, but it is hard to find free parking (empty meters) for shows since they close off all the meters near the venue during a big show.
If you're feeling a little cheap, Tilted Kilt isn't a terrible option. Not the most inexpensive but decent bar food and drinks to boot. Better than garbage like Hard Rock Cafe.
There's always Majerle's too. Coach and Willies is behind US Airways center. I always forget that's over there.
I miss the old dive I used to go to on Roosevelt with the purple pool tables before games.
