Thao and the Stay Down Get Down
A couple of years ago, I broke my ankle weeks after buying floor tickets. Still in a boot and on crutches by the time the show rolled around, I crutched my way in and stayed in GA as long as my armpits could bear it, but eventually I sought solace in a stadium seat. Alas, the lady staffing the back of the pit kindly informed me they could not grant such a request (and by "kindly," I mean she told me "you should have thought about that when you bought a standing-room-only ticket").
Combine that with the $12 bud lights, and you'll find me hard pressed to even consider stepping foot in Oracle again, for any reason. I fucking hate that place.

White Horse is a gay bar, too -- I've only been there for drag king/queen shows.
AND it is right across the street from Stranded, so you can buy some sick records beforehand.
That's sick Comets on Fire are playing together again. I would love to attend but will be in Australia.
For those of you that have the willcall app, they just announced a pop up show at Rickshaw for this Thursday, with a secret guest headliner. The font they chose to write secret show with looks really familiar to me, but i can't quite put my finger on it, does anyone know which bands use that font? I know it might not even be related to the band that is playing, but it's just been bugging me.
It's also on their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/WillCall
could it be Giraffage? https://twitter.com/giraffage/status/400024514051846144
Still doesn't resolve the nagging feelign that i've seen that font in connection with another artist before though.
Oh yeah, it's totally Giraffage, the background photo is one from his fb:
1/10 - Tennis @ Bottom of the Hill
2/4 - Frankie Rose @ Rickshaw Stop
2/8 - Shearwater @ Bottom of the Hill
New venue in San Jose
huh... odd venue choice...
02/06 Oneohtrix Point Never @ 1015 Folsom
which led me to notice that Cut Chemist playing there 11/29... big weekend in SF that weekend.
damn I have always wanted to see Cut Chemist.Yet I have also wanted to see Nightmares on Wax for awhile too.
the cut chemist show is billed as a pretty lights after party, so it is likely to be pretty late.
7/30 - Arcade Fire @ Shoreline
That's one more step towards hibernation.
10/17 - CHVRCHES @ The Fox Oakland
Has anyone heard of psychemagik? I am pulling straws at what I want to do for new years and monarch seems like itll happen since its close to my house, i like the venue, and its only 40 bucks, but have never heard of these guys.
Since I missed Chvrches today I will be there.
