I hope all of you are having a warm and fuzzy Christmas.
Merry christmas board.....cr****
it feels really nice to be at an age where i'm finally giving better to my folks than i receive :)
Gift cards to mom and dad are most convenient but recently stepped up the amounts so they last longer through the year. For Sears and such they need the extra help for this and that's, it's what they need to get clothes or shoes without overspending.
New lights for next year purchased. 50% off!

my family and i were shopping this morning and i found a store with department 56 holiday village stuff. THEY HAVE A SIMPSONS VILLAGE.
i am going to check out the cyber monday deals to see if i can find the simpsons house for cheap. i did buy ralph with his tongue stuck on the pole though :)
i've mailed all my christmas cards, fudge, and packages. holy crap people are assholes at the post office. it's the holidays, of course there is a line. pipe the fuck down and stop providing commentary on every movement someone behind the counter makes.
i definitely feel the spirit. i made pie and fudge recently, though my pecan pie needs a little work. how's everyone else's holiday season going?
So it's safe to assume that shortly before you went to the post office . . . you were busy packing fudge?
What kind of fudge do you make? I don't have a candy thermometer, so I've never really bothered trying.
the recipe is from country living. it's super easy, no thermometer required. tommy can attest to this. it's white chocolate, marshmallows, and oreos :)
Ha. I was sending a package today and all I heard from people was whining about the service.
My recent post office visit and line wait was made more pleasant by the sounds of Judge Alex blaring from the lobby TV.
I spent like 3 hours making a foam gingerbread house for the office yesterday, put it in the breakroom, and some jagoff somehow tore off the tower so that it doesn't fit itself back into its slot.
ha. rim shot.
I'm very much NOT looking forward to the stressful, tightly-wound family shitfest that will be actual Christmas.
The fudge for which Ivy posted the recipe is phenomenal. I tried making it myself a few weeks ago, and it didn't come out right. It tasted fine, but the consistency was all wrong. I really could've used a candy thermometer for that. But Ivy sent me some a couple of years ago, so I know how it SHOULD come out.
I bought the ingredients for rosemary shortbread, decorated and cleaned the apartment, invited a friend over for cookie-making, and promptly got too sick to handle food. Cheers, everyone.
Ivy, I'm totally going to use that recipe to make fudge tomorrow or friday. Thanks! I need to get a couple bags of oreos anyway to make a cookies 'n' cream oreo bark (only 2 ingredients!) so I'll have the ingredients ready to go. :)
I made some peanut butter fudge today and it came out alright, but I have so much more I need to make.
Let's get some gingerbread houses up in here!
Amyzzz, I'd like to send you some white frosting
My scantily decorated living room that will soon contain empty walls and corners is representative of my broken home ala recent break up. But hey I got a tree up. Merry fucking Christmas.
The top one is Eve's, the middle one is Cerys's, and the last one is mine.
And I worked damn hard on mine.
I think psychoanalysis by gingerbread house execution could be both a fun and enlightening new field.
