In my expert opinion, after watching nearly all of their games this World Cup, both Argentina and Netherlands are really good at making the other team look like shit.
Both teams played tight as hell. Argentina shut Robben down and Holland did the same to Messi. Holland fucked up by not keeping a substitution for their penalty goalie. Let's see the final.
Yesterday's SF was quite low on individual quality, although Mascherano and Vlaar had absolutely incredible games; good luck to Argentina against Germany, because they're going to need it!
Oh, and this bit of news helped to soften the sting of yesterday's loss a bit ;)
Javier Mascherano says he tore his anus during semifinal against Netherlands
I tore the anus.... I don't want to sound crude... Robben game me an opportunity when he took a touch; he lost a second and I won. What I did anyone could have done. To be in the final you need a bit of luck
Congratulations to Germany, well deserved champions! That Gotze finish was also very worthy of winning a WC.
Absolutely gorgeous goal.
Absolutely boring game. (minus the first 20 minutes of the 1st half)
Schweinsteiger means "pig climber" in German.
This game was boring as shit.
Argentina really f'd up some great opportunities. :(
I can't believe it...my team has actually signed players, and good ones at that. Siem de Jong, Remy Cabella, Daryl Janmaat...I fear I am going to wake up and realize I am just living a Football Manager game.
Ha, indeed. Debuchy should be a solid fit for Arsenal. When he first came on board, he tended to get a bit too forward and realized, rather quickly, how much faster the wingers are in the PL. He was vastly improved after 5-6 games in. He is pretty tough, won't back down from challenges (he is good for some yellow cards). Above average on crosses, too. Overall, an improvement over Sagna in my book.

The #hashflags is cool. hehe
Next up: King Hamez?
I am seriously thinking about flying to Michigan just to watch 2 of my favorite teams, Real Madrid vs. Manchester United for this year's ICC friendly. They are in the same pool so no way they gonna meet in the finals as it will be Winner of Pool A vs. Winner of Pool B?
Last year, I waited for the final games (Real vs. Chelsea and LA Galaxy vs. AC Milan) then watched them down here at Miami. An uber-awesome experience (considering those were just friendlies!) being actually there compared to watching it in bars or viewing parties or when watching live the other professional sports like NBA or NFL or MLB etc.
Remy to 'pool. Newcastle never had a chance.
Haven't seen anything official yet on it, but would be a solid move for Liverpool. Wish Newcastle could have done more to keep him, but I can't complain about the moves they have made thus far. I expect (hope) another striker is on the way. Would also like some depth at CB.
And in no surprise to anyone Real Madrid close to acquiring James for an 80 Million transfer fee.
How did I just find out (and through this thread and forum of all places) that Sanchez is with Arsenal! I've been forced to choose a Premier League team to support and for various reasons chose Arsenal but the whole last season I just couldn't get into really supporting them (or any other English team for that matter). I used to live in chile, so having Sanchez there has made me much more likely to really get into watching more games.
Sanchez is definitely a great signing for Arsenal. If they play 2 strikers (or Sanchez just behind), that will free up Giroud to poach, as Alexis is much better at creating his own shot, as well as distributing. I expect good things at the Emirates this season.
i get so happy whenever this thread is bumped.
all talk of Khedira transferring to Arsenal is pretty much dead at this point, yes?
