There is a slight chance we may have tickets at the door. I you want to take the chance, after ALL ticket holders are inside, we will see what we have available.
THIS EVENT IS ALL AGES
I just returned from Vampire Weekend....I left a little early. I swear I was watching the Jonas Brothers. I felt like I had been sucked into the Disney Channel & Hannah Montana would make a surprise appearance. Is it just me?
That good, huh?
They're not that great live, to be honest.
So I guess no thread for 2013? I'm looking forward to their set and new album.
It's fun to look back at all the hype talk in 2008 and now they barely get a peep one way or the other.
Honestly, I was sad that I missed other artists to catch their set in 2010 - they were disappointing, which sucked, because I was really looking forward to seeing them. I'll decide if its worth seeing them again, depending on if any other acts I want to see conflict when the set times are released.
YouTube some of their performances… see a little for yourselves.
The shows at the Tower Records in anaheim were awesome. Im talking about the random bands that would show, not VW. I think tower records might of been closed before they were even a band. Im down to watch vampire weekend as long as it doesnt conflict with something thats on my top ten list of acts for the weekend.
Come on elliot, awful? Step's lyrical turns are borderline brilliant and has a great melody. May not be your style but certainly not "awful".
I actually am digging both songs, am very impressed and am really looking forward to this set and album now (from someone who has just kind of liked this band in the past).
To each his own!
the second song's way better but yeah the first song especially is overproduced. what happened to the white boy afropop?
I don't care much for Vampire Weekend, but I rather enjoyed those two songs!
Step is fucking gorgeous.
Both of these new songs are fantastic.
I think it's rad they're still coming out with good tunes. Not amazing, but still pretty catchy
I want to see Vampire Weekend but i hope i don't set my standards to high.
I find it funny how the first page of this thread if bashing on Vampire Weekend, saying MGMT is better and that they will die down in a few years, and here we are 5 years later. They're probably gonna close the Outdoor this year.
I don't know much about vampire weekend and I'm not going to go through their catalogue to see whether I should see em or not but if someone can tell me if they have more songs like the Oxford Comma, then I might swing over and give their set a listen. I don't think there'll be any must sees at the time they're playing so I'll have time to check stuff out.
"I don't feel like doing my own festival homework so if you could just tell me if I should or shouldn't like these guys that would be great."
I've got actual work to do and don't have free time to dig through album after album for all 30+ groups that'll be at Coachella. I shouldn't even be posting here, I should be studying for my exams, so excuse me if I'd like a little recommendation or feedback from people who already know things.
One of the top sets of the weekend. Loved how they squeezed four songs from their new album in. First listen for 95% of the crowd and they still killed it.
I think they may be the worst band I have ever heard. Worth it to be two feet in front of Nick Cave singing stagger lee to a chili peps bro who was verbally threatening him.
