I meant the dark purple...the ones at the very top in the back of the arena (201-207) and the ones at the top on the side of the stage (218-219). Not sure what the greyed out seats in sections 1, 2 and 3 are for either. But yeah, I'm not complaining wherever my seats end up because like you said, it's the Stones in Vegas.

We'll be at the Planetarium show at the Disney Hall on monday --- how is the garage parking at the venue? Sufficient? Or should we count on parking elsewhere? Also, any nice places close by for dinner beforehand?
We've only hung out downtown a time or two, and we parked at Pershing Square and ate at Grand Central, so we need ideas. Thanks.
The garage parking is decent, not overly priced, but you may be able to find street parking. As far as food:
Mendocino Farms. This link takes you to their locations: I'd recommend the Citibank location if you are in downtown in time. If you've never been, you're in for a huge treat. They make incredible sandwiches with fantastic ingredients. If you and/or 1litro are pig fans, I cannot recommend the Three Little Piggies highly enough. It's a non-menu sandwich with pork belly, bacon and pulled pork, and it will make you believe in an all-seeing and benevolent deity.
Ahahaha, that sounds wonderful. We loves us some pig.
I seriously cannot oversell that place. I've tried pretty much every sandwich they have and only the steak-based ones left me a little bit less than euphoric. They have great vegetarian options that even a confirmed carnivore such as myself loves. But the Three Little Piggies is a whole 'nother ballpark entirely.
Mendocino Farms is excellent, as is the Three Little Pigs sandwich. But if you guys are in the mood for some seriously tantalizing food and some good beer, Baco Mercat is where it's at. Their bacos and flatbreads (not to mention their beer list) are exquisite.
Thanks for the good suggestions, guys. Totally looking forward to this show; we'll leave work/town in the early afternoon for the drive up. Fingers crossed for smooth traffic.
Baco is pretty close to Disney Hall. About 1 mile. Google Map
And agree it is pretty fantastic there. Very cool mixed drinks along with the excellent food.
Can't get over how good Sigur Ros were friday night. Best show ive ever seen by far. One of my favorite bands at my favorite venue. Can't go wrong with that. The new songs sound immense live cant wait for that album to come out.
I just stumbled into Baco on Friday night again, YUM. I also echo that Blue Cow is really good.
I was at the Grilled Cheese Invitational yesterday and saw Richard Cheese for the first time. It was a blast!
I second the Baco Mercat love and also throw in Bar Ama as a suggestion. Same chef - Josef Ceteno's new spot. Tex mex elevated to higher level. Amazing queso and seafood puffy tacos. Also, same great beer/wine/cocktail selections.
For those saw both sigur at coach and the santa barbara show. was it significantly diff? i can tell by some pics that the coach setup was toned down a bit compared to the full headlining gigs.
I am now a 5 minute bike ride from these places, and it makes me soooo happy!
... wait, what thread is this again?

Wow, my friend might eat this up for MMJ/Wilco. I'll talk to him about going.
I will be attending the Tampa show.
Kylesa tour doesn't start until next month, but they played a free all ages (a rarity for Savannah) show at a local studio/performance space. New songs sound great and the band is super tight currently. A lot of fun. Pics if you're interested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tecartmel/
holy fuck. really don't want to go to Irvine for that show though.
I was going through some recent Quietus features and read this interview with Merzbow. He said he's touring the US in September.
This Rolling Stones situation is turning into a disaster. I can't find anyone who wants to go. $85 is a lot of money for a show. I can't believe they made me buy 2 when I only wanted one. This whole thing is going to be a lot more expensive than I thought. $170 would be okay for PIT but nosebleeds?
Rolling Stones = ripoff!
