It's ok Amy, I smoke too much for my memory to hold onto anything for very long. ;)

I love this thread! I also feel like it has a double meaning.. I almost felt we should start a GIRLS thread but I think this works too!
Even though i already wanted to watch the show, all of the media attention about makes me want to watch it even more. It's pretty gross that so many people get upset about seeing a person on tv that looks like someone they would probably end up sleeping with in real life, naked, bothers them so much. I like seeing weird./normal looking people naked because it's not about being turned on/eroticism, it's about seeing people do things that people do.
He told me the only character he likes is Shoshanna, but I think that is because he is attracted to her. I don't know for sure though. We've seen her on a lot of TV shows like United States of Tara and Parenthood.
I think it's funny that the Hannah character wears clothes all the time that are actually WRONG for her body type and just emphasize her problem areas. "WHY IS SHE WEARING THAT?" I keep thinking.
Apparently today is "No Panties Day". I'm pretty sure this is another holiday created by a man just like steak and BJ day, lol
Don't tell me you ladies missed Cake and Cunnilingus Day
darn it!
Man, I am just not a fan of cake or cunnilingus. Can we start a beer and kick boys in the balls day instead?
I don't like beer. Can it be liquor and something else day? Actually, I don't need an excuse. I'll be having "liquor and something else cool" day after work.
Booze and Balls!
I wear jeans too often to go without panties. Jeans texture is too rough!
I like it. I am going to make up some hallmark cards and be motherfuckinrich!
I think you're on to something, but the recording of kicking men in the balls should be part of it, for comedic purposes.
i'm on medication that turns my pee bright orange. unfortunately panties are kind of a must.
Okay, I understand when women say this and they're like 22 or something and it's obvious they've just never known a guy who knew how to eat pussy, but Loca, how the fuck have none of the men in the hordes you've been with (sorry, had to) been able to show you the beautiful side of mouthfucking?
i see where audra's coming from. if you're used to always pleasing other people, it's awkward to let them please you.
Lol, Hordes... Damn. It just isn't my thing, it is a bit embarrassing to me. It's not that I don't enjoy it when it happens but I get off more without it.
And what ivy said, I prefer giving than receiving. I like the power.
My friend is in the same situation as some of you with no access to HBO/cable and being able to watch Girls. So I uploaded them to a youtube with the videos being private.

you're awesome!
Very cool/thoughtful. Thank you for doing that.
Lena did an interview about how it's interesting when someone with a rocking hot body gets naked on a show, people are assuming that they are totally comfortable with it just because they are perceived to have a great physical appearance. But not always the case..She says being naked is just something she's never really had a problem with so it's not a big deal for her.
Did any of you read the article in the July/August Atlantic, "Why Women Still Can’t Have It All"? What did you think?
Admittedly, I just skimmed it. But I don't think the emphasis needs to be on women having it all or not. No one can have it all. Powerful men are never described this way. If men have both a career and a family, its only because traditionally the man's role in the family is to have a career in the first place. In having a career, they fulfill their role in the family by providing for the family. Women can have this too, if they want. They can have a husband with a less demanding career who spends most of the time with the kids day to day, like this woman had. There is no person who can be super ambitious career wise and be that involved with their family. Like she says, it isn't built into the system. I don't think the system needs to change to accommodate women.
I'm not saying that it would be bad for more jobs to be flexible, just that I don't agree with the idea that women specifically are less capable of putting family issues aside, or that the change needs to come about because it's important for women's success.
i heard the lady who wrote it speak on NPR. i kind of felt like it was a "no duh" article. it's hard to spend time on a real career and have a close relationship with your family, no matter your gender. we've just accepted for so long as a society that men will be some sort of disatant disciplinarian after 5pm. well now women have the opportunity to do the same.
Haha! My boyfriend also mentioned Girls not being on and asked me if the DVR wasn't working. I told him the season finale happened last week and he was genuinely surprised. I guess he doesn't pay as much attention as I thought!
Yep! Exactly right.
