Although not traditionally a festival band, I think it would make for a truly special experience. Can I get an amen?

YES!! I saw the classic line-up reunion tour a couple of months ago and they were great. Uncle Bob is still bringing the fire & leg kicks.

Stream their new album "Let's go Eat the Factory" here on NPR's site (http://www.npr.org/2011/12/18/143507341/first-listen-guided-by-voices-lets-go-eat-the-factory)

Would love to see them at Coachella, naturally.

I haven't seen them in nigh 20 years but used to live in Ohio and used to see them regularly back then because friends' bands would play with them. They were always so sloppy drunk, and so were their fans. I remember Pollard once wetting his pants on stage and not really noticing.

Do they still get that drunk when they play? How will that go over if they play in the afternoon to a sober-ish crowd?

Same here, I saw them play a free show on the campus of CSU. I have never before or since seen a band that drunk on stage. Bottles of Jack being guzzled at an alarming rate all the while playing covers of The Who one after the other. It was basically a Who tribute show. They could barely walk and were sweating alcohol profusely. I can't complain though being that it was a free show. The last time I saw them was at Matador @ 21 and that was a good set. That set almost didnt happen I think it was Tobin with beer in hand almost took a swift beating to the face when he walked out on stage to sing with the band before them. The stage crew thought he was just an over zealous fan and had no idea who he was.

They seem to be not fall over drunk on stage these days (for better or worse). This is the best vid I could find and it's still pretty potato, but they seem to sound pretty tight.

It was Mitch Mitchell, the other guitarist. And he didn't try to sing with Yo la Tengo. He just walked across the stage and back during their last song, allegedly on a dare.

I'll be one of the five, for sure.
