06-20-2010, 05:28 PM
okay, so who's going?

06-20-2010, 06:05 PM
mememe Can't wait. If it is watched I'll wear a I palm tree coachella shirt.

06-20-2010, 07:49 PM
I am crazy excited for this show

06-20-2010, 08:05 PM
I just saw them at the Toronto show, so much better than the Coachella set. You guys are in for something great.

06-21-2010, 12:31 AM
Myself and Neutral Milk Hotel will indeed be in attendance.

06-22-2010, 12:14 PM
i'll be there!

06-22-2010, 01:25 PM
I'm in. Can't wait.

06-22-2010, 01:29 PM
I'll be there. Really stoked for a nice long set.

06-22-2010, 05:41 PM
Yeah the long set makes it that much better. I thought they were wonderful at the Pomona.

06-23-2010, 12:40 PM
Anyone familiar with Quasi? How are they live?

06-23-2010, 12:49 PM
Quasi is Janet Weiss from Sleater-Kinney, her ex-husband who recorded bass parts for Elliott Smith, and Joanna Bolme who is the bassist for Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks.

Their sound makes sense for Pavement (other than the clear Malkmus connection). They're alright live. I've never seen a headline show of theirs, so I can only judge their opening abilities. I imagine that if the crowd likes them, it'll go over well.

06-23-2010, 12:50 PM
I really love quasi, but to me anything Janet Weiss touches is gold.

06-23-2010, 01:27 PM
Well shit, I've always liked Sleater-Kinney but I also seem to always overlook them. From the YouTubes I'm watching, Quasi sounds interesting. We'll see how the crowd reacts.

06-23-2010, 02:31 PM
If anyone's trying to go to the Stockton show tomorrow I'll sell my extra for under face, just hit my PM's up

Anyone familiar with Quasi? How are they live?

I saw them open for Built To Spill at Slims a couple years back and they were good. The guy in the band was throwing himself all over his keyboard and getting crazy into it.

06-23-2010, 08:19 PM
These next two days are going to be magical. CANNOT. WAIT.

06-23-2010, 08:25 PM
hey guys, it's butt fucking cold up here right now (welcome to our summer) so make sure to bring layers as the fog will likely roll in (but not probably be as cool as when it did for Radiohead).

and, if you want to chill out with some other board dorks, look for Tallguy underneath the soundboard along the stone seats. that's where we're shooting for.

06-24-2010, 05:49 AM
Well Im going to head out in 2 hours. Hopefully I get there in time, I have to stop off at davis first.

Yup. Fantastic drummer.

I'm so bummed, I just didn't have the money to make it out to Berkeley, so I gave my ticket to a friend.

06-25-2010, 02:09 PM
I was all in for Stockton, but didn't want to take a vacation day for Berkeley.

06-25-2010, 02:19 PM

bummer. would have been fun to meet you.

06-25-2010, 02:32 PM
Well, I'm gonna be in the bay quite a bit in July. We should all do a board meet up at Toronado or something.

06-25-2010, 02:34 PM
word. do you like deerhoof? they're playing BOTH on 7/8. i can't wait for it! there's a few other good shows in July. maybe something will grab you.

06-25-2010, 02:55 PM
for anyone in SF that is on the fence about going to see Pavement tonight at the Greek in Berkeley, check Craigslist. complete buyer's market right now. tix are ridiculously cheap.

06-25-2010, 03:03 PM
wow, i saw heaps for $20! i wonder if the Greek is gonna be barren tonite. now i don't feel so bad selling my extra pair a couple weeks ago for $90!

06-25-2010, 04:27 PM
Apparently the Stockton show wasn't very full, either.

06-25-2010, 05:54 PM
Short set at Stockton too.

06-25-2010, 05:56 PM
I'm going tonight btw, if you see a Hispanic guy in a Atoms for Peace shirt say hi. It will be my 1st time at the Greek. Is parking hard to find?

06-26-2010, 12:16 AM
well, that was really fun!

06-26-2010, 07:54 AM
definitely an awesome fucking show
Gary was so damned drunk though

06-26-2010, 09:20 AM
yeah, i kinda felt things unraveled a bit once he got behind the kit. i understand the symbolism and how meaningful it was to everyone, but i felt it was somewhat of an anti-climactic end to what was, up to that point, an amazingly high-energy, loose yet very professionally performed show.

whatever. still had a blast and have scratched my Pavement itch sufficiently.

Rattled by the Rush > Unfair > Silence Kid

was the highlight for me. 3 of my top faves right in a row with Unfair being the one song i really wanted to hear most. pristine.

06-27-2010, 12:53 AM
This could have been my favorite concert of all time.

06-27-2010, 01:24 AM
The show last night was magical. What a fantastic experience, these past few days.

06-27-2010, 09:42 AM
I couldn't have asked for more. So much fun. High Energy. I was about 2 people back from the rail on the Malkmus side. I think I may have seen NMH there but I dunno if it was him.

06-27-2010, 10:15 AM
What did you look like because I was around the same spot. But yes, insane energy from the band and the crowd.

06-27-2010, 12:43 PM
I think I may have seen NMH there but I dunno if it was him.

Yes, that was him.

06-27-2010, 12:55 PM
Yeah, I was a few people away from him.

06-28-2010, 09:54 AM
Short set at Stockton too.

It was like 2 hours, wasn't that short. They sped up the encore because of an 11pm curfew.

Stockton setlist:

Silence Kit
Ell Ess Two (Elevate Me Later)
Spit On A Stranger
Shady Lane
Rattled By The Rush
Gold Soundz
Date With Ikea
Fight This Generation
Range Life
Kennel District
In The Mouth Of A Desert
We Dance
Cut Your Hair
Stop Breathin'
Starlings of the Slipstream
Father To A Sister Of Thought
The Hexx
Conduit For Sale!
(w/Gary Young)
Summer Babe
Two States

Gary Young was pretty cool in Stockton btw. Drunk but not as bad as it seems he was at the Greek. It felt right to have him drumming on Summer Babe.
