so were not bringing in our car to save on room. but it says grills are allowed only on car camping. so are we tent only if we dont have a car? that doesnt make sense why is it more safe to have a grill if you have a car? tf

If you are camping in a spot which does not contain a car then you are (or should be) in tent-only camping. I'm guessing the tent-only camping area will have smaller aisles, or "fire-lanes" as the fire marshal likes to call them, and that's the reason. This is a big event and there are insurance people and city administrator people GV needs to satisfy.
