Never had my own apartment up at school I had a 3 bedroom place with roommates and such. Now I'm living with my girlfriend and her family and we have got to get the fuck out of here!

So what do you guys think save money with a studio or go with the 1 bedroom?

I'd go with a 1 bedroom. That way if one of you wants to have company while the other goes to bed, the one who wants to sleep has a place to escape.

I don't think that will be much of an issue though. We have to travel to see our friends no one comes out our way too much.

Although maybe they would if we had our own place.

None of my friends leave there home town area

I'm leaning towards the 1 bedroom just so I don't feel so god damn enclosed but even the studios i'm looking at do have kitchen area and such so its not like just a fucking square.

It will depend on your personalities more. I think its important to be able to be apart once in a while, so I wouldn't live anywhere with only one room.

i'd say 1-bedroom, mainly for privacy issues. if you plan on having guests, its nice to have your sleeping area separate from your living area. unless you or your gf are neat freaks, where it wouldn't matter.

I'm sure you love your girlfriend and everything, but when living with someone, it is great to have the bedroom so that either of you can have some time alone when you desire. I personally think it is a much wiser decision than the studio and better for your relationship.

I was going to say studio because I didn't read it fully but yeah if you have more than one person living somewhere a studio is a terrible idea.

Alright well looks like 1 bedroom is the way to go.

Taking the 1 bedroom will be worth the extra money, trust me. As everyone has said, it gives you more space and the opportunity to get away from one another in the house if need be. I've lived with two separate boyfriends in a 1 bedroom situation and we were both so thankful to have the extra space.

you need somewhere to retreat when people get annoying, get at least a 1 bedroom. and as much closet space as you can. even if you think you don't have a lot of stuff, once you get it in there you'll realize you have more than you think.

For sure 1 bedroom. And you're both the splitting the rent, right? So it won't be that much more each per month.

Ya will be splitting rent for the most part I'll prob pick up more of it cause im like that.

and we have been living together now for 2 years in case anyone is wondering. It's Not one of these "hey lets try living together" things......

So right now we are giving her parents $500 combined to live here. Which is horribly dramatic. (Parents are high stress)

Or we could a 1 bedroom apartment 15min from here, 20min from work for $750-800 a month.

Definitely a 1 bedroom and the more sq. ft. the better. You can never have too much space!

Get the smallest studio you can find and put the relationship to the test.

I personally loathe the idea of living with another human being, but if you insist on making said mistake, I would go for the 1 bedroom.

Do you need to be alone ever? Does she? Do you go to bed or wake up at different times? Work different shifts? A separate bedroom can be quite nice.
