View Full Version : Lovage is Back!

According to Lovage myspace, they are reunited. If this is true it will have answered my prayers!

Music To Make Love to Your Old Lady By is definitely on my top 10 of the decade.

If you didn't already know...

Lovage is a collaborative project headed by Dan the Automator, under his pseudonym "Nathaniel Merriweather" (a persona he created for the project Handsome Boy Modeling School). The album is called Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By, which was created in team with Mike Patton and Jennifer Charles, who both provide vocals. Kid Koala plays turntables and samples and toured with the band for their 13 city U.S. tour.

Jesus christ. Does Mike Patton make clones of himself?

That being said, I will be totally there if/when they play SF again.

I'm still pissed I missed their show at HOB a number of years ago.

Since I've seen pretty much every other Mike Patton side project I'm hoping Lovage is Paul's Patton choice for 2010. A full set in LA is also acceptable.

If Dan the Automator come to Coachella for Lovage then can we expect Gorillaz for 2010?

Well Mike Patton doesn't have anymore FNM dates till Febuary, so I actually would have been surprised if Mike Patton didn't have anything going on between now and then. To be honest, I was expecting a new Fanotmas album because before the FNM reunion, there was talks about Fantomas working on a new album. But a Lovage reunion is pretty damn cool.

is Dan involved with Gorillaz any more? he didn't produce the last album, that was Danger Mouse (i think)

As long as we still get Faith No More at Coachella it would be fucking perfect if we also got Lovage. Strangers on a Train is a dirty song. Dirrty.

I don't think Lovage will be at Coachella next year, but I have a feeling Mike Patton's annual new years eve show in SF will be Lovage.

I'd be more satisfied with having a new album than seeing it live. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the first one and just want a follow up to play the shit out of

I really just bumped this thread because I wanted someone to answer Alacaro's question. Anyone? Rage?

this is good news, even if not at coachella. hopefully they'll put out some more stuff and tour. mike patton in any form is a win-win situation.
