wtf is up with Gorillaz under "heavily rumoured" haha sure it'd be great but the "source" of the "rumour" that was linked next to it has nothing to do with coachella, it just says they've been filming a music video in california... at least the Rolling Stones rumour links to some random blogger posting it as if he has insider info but come on there's nothing to suggest gorillaz would play

Why not Chris Cornell doing his new solo album back to back as a headliner?

You want him to do his new solo album twice? I don't get what you're saying.

I can't believe Orbital isn't going to happen.

Allow me to take this statement of yours and take a dump all over it.

For those who didn't notice, I mentioned how I had emailed the management and ended up with a reply from Steve, the guy who runs the Orbital site and posts all the updates, and after revealing to me that he had connections to the duo and the management, he left me this very kind and helpful piece of information in regards to what will happen:

"I believe more announcements are due early in the year but that's all i know myself. Fingers crossed for you all."

Calm yourselves down now!

:nono From the link that you are talking about:

Our source reports that Gorillaz have been signed to headline Coachella 2010. Coachella is a long-running music festival held each year in Indio, California. Coachella 2010 will take place from April 16-18 2010.

Our source writes:- "Gorillaz have been signed to headline Coachella 2010... Damon flew back last night from New York last night after some promotion work on PB [Plastic Beach]. But only one venue confirmed! Some problem with Lou Reed not committing to live dates. Dont know the full story on that one though. But thats not just it, its getting increasingly more expensive to put on a Gorillaz show." According to our source no other Gorillaz live dates have been officially booked at this time.

didn't monklish throw the cure out there last year?

I know monklish did have the right formula for the headliners....1 American headliner - 2 foreign headliners - only one repeat headliner. But then again, anyone might have been able to make that formula prediction.

yep, monklish did confirm the cure a few days before the lineup dropped. via the comment section in one of the last posts. Monk also added MBV to the list about a week before the lineup dropped - and no one thought MBV would play Coachella.

RHCP, Beasties, PJ = American
RHCP, Beasties = repeats

And is that list above Monklish's confirmed list? If so, holy shit. If i remember correctly, Monklish got 82% of her confirmed list correct last year. If 82% of this list (so far) happens this year... it looks like it will be my favorite Coachella line up yet.

10-Jul Oeiras, Portugal Alges
9-Jul Bilbao, Spain BBK Live Festival
4-Jul Werchter, Belgium Werchter Festival
3-Jul Arras, France Town Square
1-Jul Gdynia, Poland Heineken Open'er Festival
30-Jun Berlin, Germany Wuhlheide
27-Jun Nijmegen, Holland Goffertpark
25-Jun London, England Hyde Park
23-Jun Belfast, Ireland Odyssey Arena
22-Jun Dublin, Ireland The O2

Soundgarden needs to curl up and die. Tired sound, tired noise, tired front man. Lets all move on and line the Gorillaz pockets with alittle more dough to get'em to play.

I get tired front man, but tired sound and tired noise isn't their fault. I'm guessing the Soundgarden hate will stop once shitty bands like Hinder and Three Days Grace disappear. Most of the 80s bands that the hipsters love these days were tired 10 years ago but now they're cool again.

you're talkin about one page.
nobody cares about page 215,you dumb fucker.
read the title of the topic again:
Official Confirmed Artists for 2010

what's your fuckin problem ?
THE LANGUAGE ?
Or you are 'just' SLOW ? :lool

next stupid post like this, and Ill just let you sink in your own worthlessness. For now, I'll humor you.

People should've cared about 215, at that point it was the page to keep up to date with where the conversation was going. Stay with me, now its 217.

I can read that title and would you look at that... it says:
Official Confirmed Artists for 2010

Holy hot shit.

To reiterate my point: there are 6479 posts. You're telling me that we have that many posts dedicated to those "confirmed artists". And nothing is confirmed until a poster is up on the main site.

Also, some of those bands are high likelihoods that could be there. It wasn't a wishlist, It was a "hey people check these bands out" list. But fine... I'll give you the Bubb Rubb could qualify as wishlist.

And a problem with language? really? I did drop the F bomb and so did you. So... eh... I'm not going to bother. Happy holidays to you brotha man

Yeah. No. That would get someone the "exceptional douchery" award in my opinion.

How much $$ did Paul Mac get paid for friday last year? I'm wondering considering trying to figure out how much $$ it would take for the Stones to make it. Gawd that'd be awesome.

couldn't a person use firefox to log in using one screenname and then MSIE to use another?

of course, they would both have the same IP but knowing that would require one to be a mod, no?

god, this thread has fallen so far off topic.

RE: Lauryn Hill

She has scheduled tour dates for the past few years and canceled them all I think or at least most of them. The you tube vids of her 2005 performances sound fine so i'm not sure why BS said she sounds like shit these days.

I would be at her set in heart beat. Whether she showed up or not would be another question.

Because BS knows a lot has changed since 2005...

With a fierce, rusty shock Afro, she looks like funk diva Betty Davis, and looks like Betty Davis sounds. Rough. Like trouble. The band rushes headlong into a violent, jumbled, almost aggro-gospel number, mingling backing chants with Lauryn's malicious, inarticulate rasp. Her voice is shot to hell, and she shows it no mercy, not so much singing as screaming.

http://www.villagevoice.com/2007-08-07/music/the-disorientation-of-lauryn-hill/

Meanwhile, Lauryn comes undone -- publicly. Her June 27th Oakland performance was by all accounts terrible. Coming on stage almost 90 minutes after the opening act had finished their set, she disappointed. Over 100 people left the concert, many demanding their money back.

http://www.theinsider.com/news/254416_The_misunderstanding_of_Lauryn_Hill_continu es

One source said….”it was horrible. We didn’t stay for it all they walked out. Lauryn looked crazy, she had on a wool shirt and pants with a leather vest over it….umm I don’t know about you but it was hot as ishh yesterday! Lauryn was singing out of key and the only song that you could kind of understand when she was singing was zion and ex-factor.”

Honestly it breaks my heart to even think about it because once I think about it Im gonna want it then need it and if it doesnt happen Ill be all sad but Sade would be such a solid gold GET for 2010.

To my mind that would be the Leonard Cohen-level crown jewel for this year's lineup.

Your mileage of course may vary, but think of how perfect "Smooth Operator" would be at sunset, everything all orange and purple, warm-cool desert breeze on the back of your neck. Everyone so transfixed they just shut up and float on the music without chatting all over it. Fucking bliss. :)

is sade really a possibility?! damn, that would be cool. speaking of pipes these days...what's the scuttlebutt on hers?
