It is contingent... It always is. Kinda wish I went last year now that McCartney doesn't seem to have any desire to tour.

Which Coachellas have you been? I thought you were anti McCartney?

Just 2007. I changed my mind about McCartney.

Add Emmy the Great to your sig, plz. I doubt she will ever play anywhere in America ever again unless it's Coachella.

And why does Blur have a good chance? Didn't they already say no more shows and that they are going back to making cheese or whatever? Twice?

Graham Coxon: 'No more from Blur for now'

Could Paul T have booked them and then asked them to say they had nothing else planned? I guess so, but unlikely.

You realize this is how expectations get blown so out of proportion. Don't get me wrong, that would be incredible. I'd literally attempt a cartwheel in my apartment upon seeing the lineup. But it's simply not going to happen. That would the best Coachella lineup ever, by a mile, and that's without the Sahara talent. The only thing that makes this less ridiculous than Talking Heads/The Smiths/Bowie is that these acts are still active.

But good job putting PJ Harvey in there. That's all kinds of win and for whatever reason she seems to have been forgotten around here.

There are really only 3-5 slots that they could play (Sub or a strong 2nd sub). Perhaps those slots have been filled or GV has other acts in mind. Well, that's interesting. Played once in 2003. It's certainly been a while. Interesting how he was so adamant about wanting to play but not receiving an invite yet. Who knoes though? There are really only 3-5 slots that they could play (Sub or a strong 2nd sub). Perhaps those slots have been filled or GV has other acts in mind. Y'know, because bands like MGMT are going to take those slots :rolleyes

Not opposed to checking them out for a few minutes, never been a fan, but I can think of a lot more subheadliner choices. But if none of the others want to play, but they do, then that's that.

And MGMT is not a valid subheadliner. First or second name on the third line, sure. Fucking spandex-clad handitards and their oversized neon sunglasses...stop overrating bands already.

They just anounced they have a new album comming out. I don't recall even if they said when, but probably early sometime next year. One can only assume they will tour in support of it.

Well Jack says he'll be at Coachella.....

Dead Weather still havnt performed, two albums....

Raconteurs played in 08

and no news from the White Stripes camp...

So unless Jack plans on doing some solo gig then id say D.W. is a lock

I finally talked to some one who went to Street Scene this year and he said it was one of the best performances hes ever seen

I believe Bonnaroo beat Coachella in 08.

hmmm, how strange. Those sets were pretty much back to back. What was wrong w/ their performance?

It just wasn't anything special. I have seen The White Stripes and The Raconteurs live as well and both were much better.

I actually saw them at a venue in SF that holds around 685 people. It was great.

Racs at Coachella were very good, no doubt. But their set at Bonnaroo two months later was just transcendent. It made Coachella look like kid's play. At that point I realized that Racs were just as good as the white stripes

I don't have any problem with The Beastie Boys but will MCA be healthy by April?
