In 2004 my friend was driving one of the days instead of me. Since I wasn't parking I didn't pay close attention to landmarks around the car. We parked the car went into the festival and had a great time. Upon reaching the parking lot he couldn't remember where he parked. There were 3 of us my friend and my girlfriend. We split up into separate parallel rows and started walking. My girlfriend and I found the car, but we had no idea where our friend was and none of us had good cell phone reception. We had to wait at the car until he found his way to us. I have never let anyone else drive since without making sure I knew where to find the car. It was a fucking nightmare end to a great day.

No one looks at the giant signs that say LOT: 6 etc...?

I just set a waypoint on my phone. Easy.

Of course, I am camping this year so I could give a fuck where my car is...

The year I went solo I drank/consumed drugs so heavily in the parking lot when I arrived that I would never know exactly where my car was when I returned. I always had a "general" idea, so it wasn't that big of an issue until the last night. I wandered for over an hour. I became very bitter.

Just make sure to put something on the roof of your car.....like the nice orange cones available in the parking lot.

The best year was when they had those giant inflatables telling you what lot you were in. Since then they've implemented the directional signage boards but I usually take a few pics with my phone.

No cool iPhone apps. I just look for landmarks, count how many rows in I am, and remember which lot. No problem. Except for the one time I went straight to my car's location and did not see it, then walked all over trying to find it. :dumbo (That was at Vegoose. )
