Why hasnt anyone been asking about him? I'm sure plenty of people wanna see him play Coachella this time around.... Thoughts?

I certainly wouldn't say no - the sight of all those inflatable supermen being bounced around in the audience would be an entertaining spectacle.

Sufjan would be a great addition to see at Coachella this year.

Gotta love Sufjan. Definitely want to see him, especially since his last LA show got sold out by the time I tried to get tix.

I've wanted him to play for years, ever since I saw him on the Queen Mary at ATP a while back. Maybe he's too used to cold weather to brave the desert. I hope to see him on this year's lineup, though. Apparently I will allow myself to be fooled time and time again, like Charlie Brown with that bastard football.

If the delicate flower plays at night, he won't be a-wiltin' in the sun.

I'm pretty sure that he has said he doesn't like playing festivals, but that may have been someone else.

He played that Sasquatch festival last year, so at least he does some festivals. Other than it seems like hes gotten so pretentious that he only plays assigned-seating concert halls. At least in the US.

Oh well. I still love him.

I finally saw him on tour back in Oct. and it was THE best concert I've ever seen. I went into the show liking (not loving) his stuff, some of it was just too quirky for me. Anyway... the concert completely opened my eyes to what he's doing. I am a life long devotee now. He would be a perfect addition to Coachella, but we've been wishing and hoping for him for three years now, all to no avail.

Would be the best add for Friday!!

best addition!

Friday already has a ton of indie icons. 5 of the top 6 slots on the poster, actually.

He's not doing anything right now, is he? It's been two years since Illinois, so obviously he's never going to do an album for every state.

I saw him in Berkeley last year and it was in one of those concert halls. I don't think I would enjoy him as much in any other type of venue. It allowed me to really enjoy the music and the show, in full comfort.

A friend of mine saw him at Sasquatch last year and hated it. I do not understand why (this friend is a bit of an A-hole sometimes), but I do think that a 2-hour show at a concert hall would be more fitting than a 45 minute set in the desert. I would watch him in a heartbeat though.

I am really curious as to why My Brightest Diamond wont be there. They are touring with the Decemberists right now, but no Coachella. Any ideas? If you have not checked them (or her) out, do so. Beautiful stuff.

Sufjan is one of the people i really wanted to see and thought would be added this year, i really hoped he was playing this year. (and my brightest diamond would be divine as well)

he was a must since last year. i have no idea why he hasnt been there :(

Hahah my old thread got bumped, crazy. I think he does it next year since he will probably have a new album out by then. So get your wishlists out and put him on there.

He should have played in 2005. Illinois. Obvious. Well, also it took a while for the Decemberists to finally play, so hopefully Sufjan will come next year.

Well he is blowing up now, and he isnt the kind of music you exactly rock out to, when I saw him I wished I couldve sit down. Oh well when he playted that small club where I was the only one in the crowd except for his parents! Haha no seriously, Sitting down during a sufjan show is good in my book.

i really don't wanna hear anyone singng about indiana or illinois or michigan or whatever fucking state he's been singing about lately. what a terrible gimmick.

04-16-2007, 06:41 PM
He is actually writing and recording a new album now.

04-16-2007, 10:35 PM
ya he is one my wish list

04-16-2007, 10:55 PM
i would love to see sufjan play that would be fucking epic....

04-16-2007, 11:23 PM
epic is the last word that would come to mind

Due to the content of the above post, "epic" is hereto dubbed the first word that comes to mind if it were so that Sufjan should play.

Sufjan would only be tier two epic.
