He addressed the rumor on the Stones Throw Message Board. It's legit. Gonna be a DJ/Video set with hip-hop, reggae, oldies, etc. Knowing him, maybe a few surprises thrown in too. He (and his label) are very fan-centered.

Awesome. He was great at Detour.

Yeah minus all the hiccups in his equipment, he still managed to keep the audience enthralled. Even in our hysteric excitement for Volta.

Saw him play a really awesome VJ set in 07. Excited for this.

Yeah...he's always down as hell. I actually got a DVD he made of old music videos that he did as a gift for his high school reunion. He had extras and gave 'em away to a couple people. It pays to read Myspace bulletins sometimes...lol. It's all 80s stuff...pretty funny.

So, I saw PBW open for The Mars Volta two NYE's ago. He was very entertaining and mixed music videos along with songs, mostly hip-hop but some reggae, pop, rock and even Nancy Sinatra. Chances he will be on the main stage so people can enjoy the videos, which to me made his set? Or is this possible in the Sahara as well?

03-24-2009, 11:33 PM
yes, his DJ set will be in the Sahara...

03-25-2009, 05:22 AM
Funny...I see him as more of a Gobi act...MAYBE side stage...but Sahara is usually reserved for house shit.

I saw him open the Beastie Boys gala show at the wiltern a year or two ago and for the longest time i wondering who the hell some crappy dj was up on stage blabbing about how "he kinda likes itunes, it's ok, not really..." he really was just up there beating around the bush, doing pretty much nothing. i thought to myself, who the hell is this guy and why doesn't he just shut the fuck up and play something.. then i found out he was peanut butter wolf, someone who i liked, but have never seen. disappointment to say the least.

are his sets like Mike Relm?

03-26-2009, 06:36 PM
yes, his DJ set will be in the Sahara...

There is a video screen in the Sahara correct? I have been in there like 4 times and I think there was a video during Fatboy slim but I really am not sure.

03-26-2009, 07:13 PM
yes, that is why he will be in the Sahara... there are no screens in the Gobi or Mojave...

there are some possible Non-Sahara Sahara acts on the lineup, but Peanut Butter ain't one of them...

Okay thanks. This honestly makes the difference between me completely skipping him and maybe checking him out if there's nothing better going on.
