200 posts in two days? That's definitely worthy of a golf clap.

I've done better.

pancakespancakes
02-01-2009, 11:07 PM
I honestly thought you were going for 300. These last few hours lacked some effort I think.

You just need to focus a little more next time. 300 posts really isn't that hard, don't get distracted and just fucking do it.

Five more days. I'm sure it's in you! Just don't get up except to use the bathroom. And don't answer the phone unless it's an emergency.

So Beasties are confirmed according to a legit source from the Roo boards? That is awesome. Now the question is... will Jay-Z be there too? (Also, c'mon NIN!)

Only a few hours guys!

P.S. Im the only one to have sent Tommy my predictions list. Get your lists in people! Only 20 bands, it cant be THAT hard!

faxman75
02-02-2009, 08:00 AM
The Roo lineup better not disapoint. I look at posters like the one above and just know it's not true and it won't be THAT good.

I can't get over how cheesy Bruce was last night. I wanted to see him rock not act like a damn American Idol contestant winner. I can't get over how ridiculous he was. He's almost become a caracature of himself with what I saw last night.

What ever happened to the dead? Are they no longer rumored to be at Roo?

ToddThaGod
02-02-2009, 08:42 AM
nah they are highly rumored...i have a feeling the dead will be there

and yea bruce was very cheesy last night.

but roo might be the best festival ever if they can get all 5

Jay-Z

Taxman just enjoys saying "nay" and being negative :( Faxy, do you see a scenario in which the lineup disappoints? Have some faith, buddy. And I didn't see the Springsteen performance because I was still driving back from Phoenix. Even if it was cheesy, who cares? I'm sure he'll be fine at the Roo.

I do a scenerio in which the lineup disapoints. That scenerio would be half that poster being wrong and all the bands I want to see not being on it. :nono

As far as Bruce goes, I will be avoiding his set like the plague. I never liked him and I never will. The boss is boring and his songs are ghey lol. Srsly though, I just don't dig the boss.

I hope I hope I hope the lineup comes out tonight.

If the trend from the last two years continue, the line up will be released midnight eastern time. I think last year, a Tennesse newspaper leaked pretty much all of the line up at 9pm (on the nose) then the poster went up at exactly 10pm western time.

So don't expect it tonight. There is a good chance though.

How long were you on the phone with everybody, Salah (I know how to pronounce it now)? Did I say something offensive to you because you sounded annoyed when I said bye. Lol. Great talking to you :)

Tommy, you missed the superbowl?!? wtf? lol

I was planning on leaving Phoenix around 10:00 to make it to Burque in plenty of time for the game. I didn't even fall asleep until about 8:00 when Headstruck passed out. I tried falling asleep at around 5:00, but he was up talking to us for a long-ass time. Hehe. I love that guy, though! I didn't end up even getting off the couch until 12:30 and I left town at about 1:45.

No not at all! I had a decent conversation with everyone, except for Feather. Poor poor Feather

Also, I'm accepting the fact that Jack White is probably not going to be on that Bonnaroo lineup. :( At least I got him in 07 and 08

I listened on and off in the car, but radio reception was horrible for most of the drive. I actually got home and watch the last 2 minutes of the game. Exciting stuff. I wasn't sad that I missed most of the game because I had a great party weekend.

No not at all! I had a decent conversation with everyone, except for Feather. Poor poor Feather

#16 was solved for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Though not physically together on the farm, these space acts span together across the universe.

Bruce, Phish, Animal Clxgortviqweszx, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, with likely chance of an Allman Bros appearance, is probably already better than Coachella 09. Hate to say it but that seems to be the case we have here. I'm excited.

02-02-2009, 12:29 PM
I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Of course i'm gonna call out the two most known songs but I would love to hear "little fluffy clouds" and "The Box". It really doesn't matter what they play though, it would so awesome if they were both there.

Ok, then i'm going back to thinking it's the Orb and Orbital because that would just be crazy and in a year where Coachella is lacking in EDM, the Roo would show up with EDM in a huge way!

Blinken
02-02-2009, 01:04 PM

Note: If clues are solved super fast- one of two things are at play: it's a trick or it's a gift. Careful about mistaking one for other.

1. When do tickets go on sale? I'm getting mine ASAP.
2. How do I go about getting a camping pass? I was confused by the site, is it included in the ticket cost?

Pretty sure they go on sale immediately. It's weird how I haven't read any announcement about that though. Last year I didn't get my tickets until March because I wanted to wait until I was absolutely positive I was going.

The camping is free and there are no special passes. Hypothetically, any old hippie could camp at the Roo regardless if they have a ticket or not, they just let you right in and lead you to a campsite. But yeah your camping pass is your ticket, just like your wristband to enter the festival (a.k.a. Centeroo) is your ticket.

Also, don't spend the extra ten bucks. I really doubt they'd be THAT late. Roo is not for another two weeks after they're supposed to arrive, when were you planning on leaving for the road trip? I'm leaving on Monday... but maybe Sunday.

Are we ready for this! I was finally banned for good from work internets. It's been fun guys. I'll only be a night poster for the remainder of the year I think. This bankruptcy is stressing me out. Can't fucking wait for it to be over. It was weighing heavy on my mind Saturday night at D$'s. I'm starting to think I should have drank more, hung out more and not left at 1am. Anyway, I try not to think much about the bullshit so lets bring on the LINEUP!

Head to TuneInMusicCity.com tonight for all the answers.

Editor's note: Many fake lists for the 2009 Bonnaroo lineup are circulating, including any listed below. Please know that Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival has not yet released the official lineup and will not do so until midnight Eastern time. It looks like Blackswan won't be getting a handjob after all.

Seriously though, paul gets his bboys and we don't get jack shit for hip hop on this lineup. That and the lack of any EDM other than Oakenfold makes me doubt this lineup still. I know that neither of these were roo's strong points but there was always at least 3 or 4 hip hop and edm acts in the past. Now there's just one of each? I realize that there's still additions to be made but that doesn't seem right.

If that lineup is true, i can't believe I'm saying this, but that's probably a better lineup then coachella. David Bryne, NIN, Of Montreal, Animal Collective, MGMT, Bon Iver, and more! All acts I'd love to see live right now (saw byrne, Iver, and Of Montreal in the last few months, but still) and for some unknown reason aren't playing Coachella this year. WTF

I guess they seriously lack dance acts (oakie, lol), but our sahara line-up right now isn't all that great. I know, I know additions are coming. They better be good! I'd hate to have to admit to people I thought Bonnaroo had a better line-up. I mean if mtv can pull off a better line-up than GV, I'm going to cry a little bit inside.

Lollapalooza as of last year entered Coachella and roo stratrosphere, with their headliners alone. They need to bring it this year though, to prove it wasn't a fluke.

That fest is not a destination fest and will never EVER be on par with Coachella and Bonnaroo. I love Chicago, I am from Chicago but Lolla can never ever offer what the Roo and Coachella offer.

lineup wise they can, and lolla is a destination festival. I met more people NOT from Chicago last year while i was there. Yeah the vibe, atmosphere doesn't measure up to Coachella(I don't know about roo because I haven't gone), but the lineups do.

TeamCoachellaHellYeah
02-02-2009, 06:43 PM

You just hate Paul McCartney...

Oh indeed the linepus do Sushov but Chicago is not a destination festival. No matter what way you cut it there are loads of Chicago folks there and it's in the middle of a huge city. I would guess that 80% aren't flying to that fest.

Having been to Lolla, Coachella and Bonnaroo I think I can speak on this. Faxy is right. Lolla is not a destination fest in the true spirit of destination fests. The atmosphere is not even 1/20th of what Coachella is and not even 1/50th of Bonnaroo (those aren't scientific numbers). To put Lolla in the same league as Coachella and Bonnaroo is just laughable. LOL. See.

I was really just talking about lineups. I know for sure that Lolla can't even compare to Coachella when it comes to atmosphere, and of course I'm excited to see what it will be like for Bonnaroo. so whole point here is that Coachella, Lolla, and The roo are in the same league when it comes to lineups. Just wanted to clarify, can we talking about this great roo lineup(if it's legit). I also agree with lolla not being a destination fest in the true spirit(middle of nowhere, camping, etc.) but a lot of people do fly in so in that respect in can be considered a fest.

1. phish will attract a ton of hippies.. just go with it..

Grrr. Marco didn't know what I was going for with my "answers." Here the real answers now.

1) I doubt they'll play to a silent festival. There is almost always something else going on at any given point, no mater how popular the artist. If they are playing to a silent Roo then it'll give you a chance to grab a spot for a late-night show.

2) I can't really speak on this since I haven't showered at either fest.

3) There seems to be a wider variety of food and some kick-ass sweet tea.

4) It's better in that you can camp right next to your car. Potentially worse in that you might have to camp really far away. There's an in and out policy at Bonnaroo so if you're camped fairly close you can walk to your campsite to eat during the day.

I think it was in the lower 90's at its hottest last year. It was pretty muddy because it rained on Friday night/Saturday morning. About 80% humidity I'm pretty sure. I really didn't think it was that brutal. I was more drained from the weather at Coachella in 2007.
