10-01-2008, 08:27 PM
this took me a long time to work up lol ... and i bet i might add one or two more after i think about it ... anyway, post pics of the cars you have personally owned .. all cept two of my pics are from the internet and not mine ... it was fun to think back about the times that went with them ... and they are part of the reason i have to go to work every day and not retired :) x****

My VW bus, what fun times in the 60's and 70's

someone sold me a pair of these, one for parts, they only lasted one year ...

this is one of my couple of warning from the cops .... i was in OK, on the road, went over the hill, hit my brakes ... the cop said when you were slowed down, i clocked you at over 130 mph ... i told him how i was on my way to CO to get married which i was, he laughed and let me go ..... one year old when i bought it .... i saw it on one of those auction shows and it went for 180k, can you imagine, only 2k were ever made

rolling, rolling, rollin ...

hot car ....

first truck i ever had, new .... a datsun

i drove one of these in japan for about a year ... it was chain drive like a motorcycle ..... way fun esp at 17 .... x****

good all around .. i had a camper you pulled then so it was cool .. everything matched lol ...new

figures again ....

no comment, surfer years .....

i wish i would have kept this .. i had the first accord east of the miss ever ... the vin number was xxxxxxxx01 ... i put 350 k on it, the odometer broke, gave it too my daughter, she drove it for years .... 4 oil changes in maybe 500k miles hehehehe .....

BOOOOM .... new though

my ford was green ... it was called the Lizard .... it took me to woodstock, summer of love, altamont, jimi nye in new york yada yada ...

my bus held 55 people but it had no seats ... it was painted bright red and had Church of the Nazarene sp painted all over it :) ... it was cheaper to buy the bus then renting a u haul then i gave it to a church after we moved, then took it off my taxes .....

my fav car .. me and it went over 300k .. last birday decade thingy we went to los cabo, hwy 1 all the way up the coast and back to denver ... like a 5 k trip ... 210 hr .... i got it up to an honest 152mph a couple of times ... scary but fun ....

my current ride, and figures again eh lol ....

so what cars or bikes (i didnt post mine) or whatever did or do you have ? x****

10-01-2008, 08:35 PM
the fact that you were at woodstock means you win all things.

i'll post some pics later of my 1960 ford ranchero (with a '92 5.0 dropped in it :) )

Add a major dent to the left back panel, with the Town and Country logo falling off. It didn't look cool but I certainly could haul a lot of friends around.

2005 - April 2008 exclusively but now regularly too:

April - now:

Except orange. I couldn't find a non-convertible orange one online. Middle aged women stop me in parking lots and squeal about how cute it is.

10-01-2008, 09:07 PM
First car, it was my moms and she gave it to me when I graduated high school.

My 2001 Corolla, I got it my second year of college, and totaled it a year later. :(

I had this car for a few months while I waited for the insurance to get settled.

Then I got my favorite car a 1966 El Camino with a custom built 350 engine. (This is the actual car not like the other pictures)

I had to sell it because of high gas prices and the costs to mantain. So I now have a Hyundai Accent.

10-01-2008, 09:07 PM
even the chubby ones?
they try harder. cause, you know, they're chubby. so they have to.

10-01-2008, 09:08 PM

This is the car I learned to drive on and drove all through high school.

10-01-2008, 09:39 PM

10-01-2008, 10:39 PM
this is my first. you always remember your first.

this was the next in line. I ran that little Luv truck into the ground so I needed something fast. I ran this one into the ground too.

this one belonged to my girlfriend but you best believe I drove it whenever she was away on business which was a lot. varrrroooooommmm!!!

and this is my current ride but in teal.it has been an excellent car so far and it has a really good sound system.

10-01-2008, 10:40 PM
It's an OR question!!

10-01-2008, 10:40 PM

10-01-2008, 10:55 PM
I've never had sex with a Volvo.

10-01-2008, 11:00 PM
I said on the brain . . . gaughd.

10-01-2008, 11:09 PM
well your evening sounds a lot more exciting than mine.

10-02-2008, 07:49 AM
First car- '00 Toyota Corolla. I ran that car into the ground. Totalled twice. Ended up putting more into that car than what it was worth. Oh well.

Second car- '98 Toyota Camry LE. I loved that car, had all the leather and wood trim, power windows, bigger, more powerful... such an improvement over the Corolla. Had it for all of 7 months- complete transmission faliure, and cv joints went; had to sell it for scrap.

Current ride (in transit from factory)- '08 Triumph Bonneville T100. Not a whole lot to say about that one.

jeeezus Quad... you drive some boring cars

10-02-2008, 08:01 AM
canexplain had a mr2, that's awesome. i always wanted one of those.

my first car was an '86 mustang convertible GT 5.0 drop top. it was the shit. my grandpa left it to me in his will. all my cousins are much older and when they graduated high school, he gave them each $2000. well, i was 10 when he passed, and before he passed he gave me the title for my birthday. i remember being like "wtf is this piece of paper?!" and my dad's like "umm, grandpa just gave you his CAR".

this car meant a lot to me. my grandpa and i were super close. he was quite the charmer. he'd always pull up with the top down and do the "hang loose" sign with his hands when he pulled away. my parents almost sold the car at one point, but i balled my eyes out about how they could never sell grandpa's car.

it got me through high school, until my ex-boyfriend trashed it. it's still on the side of my parent's house. i miss racing any and everything in that car <3

and i lived with someone for 3 years. he had a car we shared. since keeping it in my name is THE only thing that kept it from getting impounded when he got arrested, i'll claim it as mein:

If you believe the stories, apparently McCain had narrowed it down to Camry and Palin. It was so close he had to draw straws.

10-02-2008, 08:11 AM
Wait, doesn't Palin have a daughter named Camry? Spooky.

10-02-2008, 08:14 AM
2000 Saturn SL2 - Bronze...150,000 miles on it and i've had it since sophmore year of college.

high school - ford ranger white

10-02-2008, 08:20 AM
In high school (this is pre gangster rap mind you) I drove a red 67 Chevy Impala I got from my grandfather. Wish I still had it!!!

Then I drove a 1994 Toyota Celica GT like this one (I sold it in 2005, it had 239,900 miles on it too) it was still pretty damn mint

Then came my 2006 Audi S3 (in black though)

Now - 2009 Audi A4 Avant Wagon (except in dark lava gray)

and my wife drives this Subaru:

10-02-2008, 08:22 AM

10-02-2008, 08:43 AM
I've always had a horrible history with cars. I didn't own this, but my family did, and this is what I learned to drive in...78 Grand Prix. My dad had a company truck, and my mom had agoraphobia, so as soon as I turned 16, I drove this 90% of the time.

I bought a '75 Riviera in college.

Look at that monster! Luckily, gas was around 99 cents a gallon at the time. Blew a head gasket after about 18 months and cracked the heads. The repair would have been more than what I paid. So my grandfather loaned me a few grand to buy this piece of crap...an 84 Ford Escort Wagon.

Wow, this one's getting towed too. I hated this car. Mine was particularly wacky. It was a two tone with a pinstripe, a leaky sunroof, and a bright red interior. No A/C, which was fine because I was going to college in Flagstaff, but my parents lived in Lake Havasu and in the summer, my girlfriend lived in Phoenix. Oh, and it overheated like crazy and eventually blew a head gasket too (but it got repaired unfortunately.) Only cool thing was it was built in Canada and had a speedometer in KMs. Came in handy when shooting a video in college where someone was supposed to be driving fast. I got out on the freeway and drove normally while I shot the speedometer reading 110.

The Escort died after college, and I had good enough job to get a car loan. I bought a 90' Corolla.

I loved this even thought it was boring. It was comfortable, got good mileage, and was reliable as hell. I only had to repair it once- a faulty starter coil or something. When I got married, my wife had a car that was falling apart. My Corolla was paid off and I knew it would run another 5 or 6 years easy. So we made a deal- we would buy her a brand new car on a 5 year loan, than I would get a new one when that was paid off, and so on. She got a little Hyundai- not a great car, but the first time either of us had owned a new car, so it was nice. And then...I got t-boned by some 16 yr old running a red light.

Because the Corolla had so many miles, they only gave me $3000 for it. So now I need to find something that's going to last 5 years and costs less than $3000. I wind up with an '86 Audi 5000.

I'm sure this was a kick-ass car in 1986. But this was 1999. Instantly, the transmission failed completely. Replaced that, and it wasn't so bad after that, but it leaked tranny fluid. The door handles would break in the freezing weather- I replaced a couple times, but then gave up. I think towards the end, the windows wouldn't roll down AND the AC didn't work. Luckily, I just had to drive it to work...we used the Hyundai for everything else.

Finally, I paid off my wife's car and bought myself an '04 Honda Element.

Dumbest looking car in the world, but I love love love it.

Currently, I own a 2005 Chey Silverado SS truck. Blacked out bitch!

First car was a charcoal grey Volkswagen Bug, no special year maybe 72. It was my parents and it used to orange. I had to share it with my sister for the first year. I installed my very own tape deck in that bitch...It was quickly jacked.

Then I rolled my self into the BLAZAAAA. Chevy Blazer 1985. This car was the shit, I made my first trip to Cali in it. No AC and the girls had to take their shirts off because it was so hot.

College I had my very own Acura Integra...pimpin'

Fuck we used to roll the BLAZZZAAAA around my high school bumbin Twista...cuz it feels so good how we kick it in the hood.

10-02-2008, 09:22 AM
My blind grandma gave me her 1988 Subaru GX-10 when I turned 16, because she couldn't drive it very well anymore. That little car was made to be destroyed by a high schooler, but, somehow, my parents killed it instead. Funny thing, that car had a turbo in it, but without that, it couldn't run up hills. Seeing as how I lived at the base of a 13,000 Ft. mountain, when the turbo went out the car just wasn't practical anymore.

So, I rolled it into town and went to the local ford dealer. They just happened to have a 2002 (This was early 2003) Ford Focus SE that had been driven less than 200 miles. It was a really good price, so I traded in my dead little subaru and got the Focus. I'll break 100,000 with my focus in a month or two, and it still runs great. I had to recently replace wiring because some mice chewed it up, and the transmission gave out around 85,000, but those are the only two problems I've ever had.

Almost as a cliche, I was swept up in the import craze that was going on in the 90's. I mean, being around Asians/Pacific Islanders, you were almost expected to tune out your hondas, acuras, subarus, etc...so, my first car that I owned on my own was not unlike Ivy's I had a 95 Civic Hatchback SI with a GSR swap, GReddy Cold-Air Fusion intake, and later on a HKS Big Tyme Turbo boost, which I got to enjoy a total of 4 months before wrecking the car. Here's what my car resembled...

I have them somewhere amongst the million boxes of stuff in storage, so whenever I get around to findin' them, I'll post them. If anyone is familiar with the 405 and 605 I pretty much crashed in the transition tunnel after drifting asleep...driving while exhausted is worse than driving drunk sometimes.

Yeah, I've done that once and it was scary. Luckily, for me my foot was hitting the break and when I stopped I awoke.

10-02-2008, 09:59 AM
My first was a Ford Bronco II. It was a hunk of shit but it went from A to B.

Later, I bought this beautiful Honda Prelude Type SH. I drove it for nine years with no problems and loved every minute of it.

Last year, I sold my Prelude and decided I wanted a Honda Insight. I wanted blue but could only find red and silver near me. I then found an almost new blue Insight at a dealership in Huntsville, AL and had them agree to pay for a plane ticket so I flew out and drove it back to Texas. I love it (65 MPG :)) and will be driving it until it dies.

I won the pink slip to a SH once, but since I'm not much of a gambling man, I let the guy keep his ride. I didn't want to show him up in front of his hot Asian gf. I did, though, take her number instead.

I'm under daily threat of being crushed by gigantic trucks around here..I'm seriously taking my chances.

i am the same way. trucks start just coming into my lane sometimes. and i hate being behind giant vehicles i can't see around. they've also raised some of the ATM machines out here which annoys me. my car is efficient. therefore services should be geared towards cars like mein and not inefficient, giant vehicles.

I tried my damndest to find a picture of a blue oxidized 1965 Mercury Comet Stationwagon... If I had known they were so rare, I would have kept that piece of shit! But, anyway...My highschool sweetheart had the wheels, so I never bothered to worry about my own car....http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee54/ann1968_2007/chevelle1966.jpg It was a Canary Yellow 66 Chevelle SS. It was his pride and joy and I was proud to have taken his virginity in it as a blessing. :) We ended up getting married and my grandmother gave me that stationwagon. Apparently, she must have been thinking I was into a large family or some shit like that...Not! For our first anniversary, we decided to just go LOOK at new cars. He made the mistake of letting me sit my ass in the driver's seat of a 1982 Camaro. Charcoal Gray, Louvers, Bra, etc...http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w18/1BROKENDOLL/940f.jpg Unfortunately, the car payments outlasted the marriage and as I took the "High" road, he took the car. I proceeded on my way with a 1973 Vega + 3 head gaskets before I figured out Vega's weren't meant for me...http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w18/1BROKENDOLL/Vega-1.jpg I dated a "motorhead" for awhile who, while working on my Vega allowed me to drive around in this 70 1/2 Z-28 Camaro with a 454 under the hood. (If I wasn't in Heaven driving that monster, I certainly was headed there faster than the normal life span. I was in San Diego at the time and used to go out to 2nd street in ElCajon and pick races with that car. Managed to collect afew tickets as well...Allow me to race through the next 3 years, seeing as I'd like to forget them as being my "Delinquent Daze..." :( http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w18/1BROKENDOLL/PICT0011.jpg Upon returning to the real world, my estranged father got me this 87 Ford Ranger with the blessing, "Now, get your shit together, be sure to visit your mom, but stay atleast 200 miles away." Needless to say, here I am in Coachella Valley, I still own the damn truck, and not only does it look better than when I got it, I intend to make a tie-tac out of it one day to present to my dadhttp://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w18/1BROKENDOLL/IMGP0030.jpg Note the stickers on the rear window...that void in the center has my Daft Punk Decal from the Alive tour there. And it alone bumped up the value of the truck!http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w18/1BROKENDOLL/IMGP0033.jpg I may not have my shit together yet, but I did get it together enough to be able to go visit mom one weekend driving this, a 1986 Corvette. And, yah...you can bet I pulled up when dad was out in the front yard gardening as I stepped out of it and smiled! http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w18/1BROKENDOLL/IMGP0014.jpg

This is my first car, it only had brakes part of the time, I could only have headlights or brake lights but never both, and if you sat in the backseat on the passengers side the battery would arc and shock you. Oh and the generator was bad so if you my freinds knew that riding with me often meant a push start.

My second car that I got from a police auction, it was painted all white though. The backseat was torn up and didn't have door handles or window cranks.

My first brand new car, although I bought it in Oregon so it didn't come with A/C. I lived through 2 summers in AZ with that car. UGH

My current car, it is my favorite of course. Everyone refers to it as my box so it always is a good conversation piece.

'85 chevy s10 blazer, first car, put a $2000 soundsystem in it, made it worth it

'01 Jetta gls vr6, bought brand new from dealer, paid cash for it, just traded it in for our new family car

current family car is a 2008 mazda5, a mini-minivan, love the sliding doors with 2 kids, hate having a lease payment

and our date night/fun car/business car is an infiniti g35...it's sexy as hell

here is a side view of my 2nd fav car I had ... two downsides on this car ... you had to put premium fuel in it or it would "detune" itself (but that car was so cool in many way, the gas tank was actually long ways sort of and split down the middle for more even weight distrubution) .. the other thing, when i bought it, it had factory tires made esp for the car ... they hung to the road like glue, it was amazing but they cost 200 bucks apiece ie: 800 each change ... well they lasted a total of 4 months ... i did that twice and decided that 3200 a year on super tires was not worth it .... replacement tires still were cool but not like the originals ...

this was my very first car. got it during my 2nd year in college too! i loved it but had to part ways with it a couple years later for some cash. saying goodbye broke my heart. wood pearl green remains my favorite car color.

My 2001 Corolla, I got it my second year of college, and totaled it a year later. :(

i have black Nissan Sentra now. a total piece of crap.

The first car my parents let me drive after getting my license (in 1999) was an '89 Honda Accord. It died within a week.
They then let me drive their '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited until it broke down completely.
It gave my dad a reason to buy a new car that he wanted, so they handed me down their '96 Honda Accord. Drove it for a few years, then it almost caught on fire.
That gave my mom an excuse to buy the car that she wanted, so I ended up buying my mom's '03 Toyota Rav4 from her.
When I decided to move to CA in 2009, my dad felt it was best that the 4x4 vehicle should stay in CT, so I traded him the Rav4 for his '05 Toyota Corolla S.
The Corolla was good to me, but I missed driving an SUV, so I sold it in 2011, and bought an '09 Honda Pilot LX.

1968 Cutlass Supreme SS ragtop, V-8 350 Rocket.

Mine was Grayish Blue with a bench front seat, ideal for "parking."

My grandfather left it to me and I wish I would have taken better care not to smash it up.

This thing was a cop magnet.

I still drive a '95 of the same model. My hitch was super rusted out and I was about to get a new one within a month or two and there happened to be a recall for it a couple weeks back and they replaced it for free. Saved me a nice chunk of cash.
