I don't know, I just moved to the west coast from Cincinnati less than a year ago. I saw them in OH, KY, and IN.

My friend at the time (now my GF) told me about them and invited me to one of their concerts at The Avalalon in Hollywood sometime early May. I got pretty drunk but saw a good portion of their show sober. They were pretty fucking good. They should come back to Coachella.

For some reason I thought that was Gogol Bordello.
Until I realized it was only one guy who wasn't one of the girls on the drum.

They are called Monotonix. You should look into them man, I think you will enjoy them. I saw them at Bumbershoot and they were suposed to have an hour long set, but their power was cut off 13 minutes into their set because shit got too rowdy. It was awesome. They ALWAYS play on the floor. Even if they have a stage, they will set up on the floor.
rage i really think you would like Lightning Bolt... please tell me youve heard of them.
I have heard of them and I have heard their live shows are something that need to be experienced... but I have never heard a single track of theirs. Where should I start with them?

I would start with Dracula Mountain, that is one of their best songs. As far as albums I would start with Wonderful Rainbow. They are mostly just alot of noise but its great.
Live, they play on the floor of the venue, and just let the crowd stand as close as they want. I havent seen them live but i have a friend that has and ive seen videos.

okay so heres a shot at my own thread...
Crystal skulls
Hella
Waxwing
Joanna Newsom (I guess she doesn't really count as "small' any more)
Weatherbox
Dustin Kensrue solo acoustic
John Wies...(sp?, but a noise act at coachella? insane!)
Grand Buffet
The Dismemberment plan
Cex/Kid 606
The Weakerthans
Neutral Milk Hotel reunion.
I know its more than ten, and doesn't completely subscribe to 'small bands'...but damn this combo would be a dream for me.
