Howard Stern's Porky Remake is Greenlit?
Written by: Noah Sanders

This is news to me:

Since 2005 Howard Stern has been working his ass of to try and put together a series of films underneath a 'Howard Stern Presents Ö' banner. The first two films in the pipeline, or so he claims, are remakes of teen sex romp Porky's and bizarre Ramones teen flick Rock 'n' Roll High School. I find the second choice extremely odd, as Stern actually sort of looks like Joey Ramone.

Well, seemingly the king of shock jocks actually took time away from his show to work on the, ahem, eighth draft of the Porky's script and Slashfilm is reporting that he's been given the greenlight. Stern told Slashfilm:

'They say itís all greenlit and everything, ready to go. They say they can even start shooting in October, but I donít know if thatís true.'

Not exactly the most definitive answer, but it'll be interesting to see how fast this gets the go ahead when Superbad murders the box-office in the next month. I promise you, after Superbad devastates the box office, there will be so many R-rated teen sex comedies spattering the screens, it'll be ugly. And a remake of one of the teen sex comedies is sure to get the go-ahead.

How is Rock n' Roll High School bizarre exactly? This Noah Sanders person was obviously born in 1993.

Ummm, it's pretty bizarre. It has a giant white mouse as a character.

A remake is a waste of time. And they already did a remake/sequel that blew. But if you were running it, who would you get to play the band? Who's silly/awesome enough?

If they made it two or three years ago, they could have used The Darkness.
