Default GV preparing for ticket surge - who's been added?
This news is current as of yesterday, April 6th.

I have a source who is in software development, and some people were working overtime last weekend on a project that was urgent. Since I am a music fan, she asked me what I knew about a "rock festival in the desert."

As the story goes, it looks like Ticketmaster and Goldenvoice are preparing their websites for a surge of new ticket sales. It is a new option where fans can buy tickets based on their credit scores. Just like the layaway plan, but in reverse. Since the event is so close they are willing to check your credit and give you tickets, as long as you are willing to make payments. It actually sounds like a great idea in a struggling economy.

So if the promoters have put the software in place for this last-minute surge in weekend passes, WHO HAS BEEN ADDED THAT WOULD GENERATE AN ADDITIONAL 10,000 TICKETS TO BE SOLD?

It must be someone along the lines of:
U2
Springsteen
or - maybe they are ready to announce THE SMITHS have been confirmed.

Few acts except RAGE & RADIOHEAD/PIXIES have created the ticket panic for our favorite event, Coachella.

Your guesses?

Check the main site. Under "Event Info Tab" at the bottom it says Pay Later. I saw it this morning and thought I was Trippin... It doesn't work yet though.

this does give some credit to something major being added.....on the other hand...they could just be trying to boost ticket sales...but it would have to be someone earth shaking...given that people will have to plan on hotels/camping and what not...

I can back this up. Yesterday night, under the event info tab at the very bottom there was this one that said "Pay Later"
I clicked it and it said that I couldent access it.

I seen it too, this morning. It was up 5 minutes ago, but down now. I never thought I would type this, but you could be right about Jacko. Or maybe... finally... Bowie.

Or maybe ticket sales are just that horrible, and they are pulling out "Pay Later" because they fucked themselves with "The Killers" and "The Cure". Honestly, though has GV EVER let us down? I'm expecting to be blown away, yet again. I thought we were, but I am thrilled to say; We aren't done folks!

Exactly. Everyone always talks about how Kanye was added just before set times were released, so anything is possible. But do we know how many tickets such a later add really generated?
