Parking backdoor style usually scratches out this problem as well. All 3 days this year my friends and i were in Lot 4 or 5. Main sacrifice is the hike to the main gate which takes about 20 minutes (new water from car to main gate is pretty much mandatory and will be gone by the time you are getting checked out by friendly yellow and baby blue jackets). Leaving was smooth all 3 nights (made even smoother by the excellent driving skills of our exit driver) and i felt we didn't wait at all to get out. Going in was great day 1 and 3, but some unexplained crazy jam on the back road day 2 fucked us from seeing the Fratellis. That day was almost the same as being on Monroe and we were at a snail's pace for an hour plus.
Yeah that was the same entrance to the camping parking. No one really knew about that parking.
If I am going to go camping, I want it to be in a serene, peaceful, woodsy environment.
Camping with a bunch of noisy, degenerate slobs -- who I'm stuck sharing outhouses and showers with -- is not exactly appealing to me.
If you're into that sort of thing, more power to ya. However, unless you're broke as a joke, a hotel is usually the way to go.
Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.
going in/out through the 53rd (or is it 52nd?) street access is best...we gave up on walking in/out on Sat this year and that way was a great option
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.
