hotel rates ^ increase

I was doing some early planning, decided to book a place in advance.
I found this travelodge at $64.99/day, a f-ing steal if u ask me. I thought that
I booked it on line, all to have the booking company to tell me it didn't go through? So I called the place directly...so they can tell me that a major entertainment company, booked all the rooms for next Coach... W.T.F.!!!!

To top it all the cheapest place was at the same place where I stayed at
for this past Coach. Their rates went up from $89.99 to $129.00/day. I thought
I was doing this too early...but i was to late for the $64.99 deal. And all the
other hotels want $200-$300/day, what a rip off!!!

The major hotel discount sites are going to start taking bookings for next year,
by the beginning of JUNE, so look out for some good deals, if you plan to
get a place. I'm gonna be looking for a better deal, that's for sure!

early showers: line is not long. just determine which showers are less crowded before you go.

curfew: there is no such thing. i mean yes, they say there is, but lordy people party all night.

One day I showered around 11am and there were no lines. I also showered really early one morning, no line, but I had to wait for the guy to open up, and then I went back again and rinsed off around 1pm.

After camping this year, I would definitely want to do it again. Next time though, I'm bringing a wagon.

So we should just assume that you're just being a spoiled bitch then. Camping is seriously the best way to go. It's $45 dollars for all three nights. Not $45 every single night. That's almost a third or maybe even less of what your going to be paying per night at a hotel. However, if the idea of being right next to the festival, avoiding the insane lines when it's time to leave and the crazy good vibe one get's when hanging out with thousands of others, then yeah... i have always camped except for this past coachella and I have to say it was the best time of my life.....was with about 11 great friends tons of drinking and didnt have to sneak our drinks in...tons of swimming...and tons of clapping at old people while they played golf and i nursed my hangover. Also having a great shower and being able to take a shit in the morning and a shit at night....ah man....what a relief

Camping is nice if you don't want to wait in traffic, and you want to meet lots of cool random people, and stuff like that.

But there's nothing wrong with wanting to stay in a hotel. No need to have people get hostile about it. Hotels afford certain advantages that camping just can't. Like pools. And private bathrooms/showers. And air conditioning. And quiet.

yeah no one was there like at 6 in the morning or like at 11. Yeah your roadtrip story was pretty cool.

I think lack of sleep because of the constant noise and shower lines were the worst problems this year.

I'm trying to weigh dealing with traffic (hoteling) against getting no sleep and having no time AWAY from the festival to regroup (camping). I haven't decided what's more important yet because although I had very little sleep, I dealt with that OK by taking lots of mini-naps early on everyday inside the festival.

I think our hotel was only 600$ for the weekend. Split between multiple people it wouldn't be that bad.

i've been 3 times, hoteled it every year, and never once have I questioned if it's worth it. Yeah the traffic can be a pain, but i've never had the 2+hr waits some have. Sleep, a/c, and shower (and just plain old quiet time) make it worth while to me.

If you are with a group, the best idea is to rent a condo or house.

That's a motel 6 rate...be prepared for them to overbook and be assed out of staying where you planned to stay for the whole weekend. Motel 6 sux in coachella....ghetto!!!
