Thought this might be a good idea..
for me to get ideas about my budget.
It currently sits at:

212 - Saturday and Sunday Coachella Tickets
110 - Roundtrip Greyhound ticket from Utah to *****.
160 - food and water for 4 days
100 - merch and "emergency" (still working this one out)
45 - Camping ticket.

627.00

So I'm going to be spending about 630.

Feel free to share what you're planning for a budget or whatever.
I'm sure we can think of better (cheaper) ways to get us all to Coachella.

i got my tickets on the ducatking presale, for $447 USD, shipped (199x2, 12x2, 25 for shipping).

i priced out 2 tickets on ticketmaster today, shipped, with service charges were, what, $567 USD?

i saved $135 canadian getting them on that presale. woot.
that more than pays for 2 camping tickets.

maybe they are from canada? but yeah thats cheap! my presale form ticketmaster with the kroq presale was like 280 after convenience charges! i dont think i'm gonna be able to also afford glastonbury this year too. although killers are playing.

Yep, the first pre-sale before the lineup was announced had 3-day passes for $199 + fees.

Two travelling and three at Coachella.

So anyone got any estimates of how much that'll cost in food?

Depends...are you going to be by yourself? Bringing food with you for the trip? What do you plan on eating? How much eating at the festival?

Food budget is tricky, it really depends on the individual.

how'd you get $217 for the 3-day pass? i bought one myself during the pre-sale this past weekend and got charged $223. ($6, not a big difference. just curious.) it was $12 for fees and $12 for delivery.

The $12 delivery fee was a flat rate, no matter how many tickets you bought. I bought 2 tickets, so that's $6 delivery per ticket.

That's why you got charged $223 per ticket, and I got charged $217.

Mine was $223 from same pre-sale. I got two passes. (I'm broke now). Other person I got passes for might not go now...grrr...

And I started typing this before Courtney typed her response, but I got a time out error when I posted. All is clear now.

So... 400 bucks or so. probably more like 450-500 when it's all said and done.

Have you been to Coachella before? It's more like 37 bands per day...not 80...and you certainly won't be seeing all of them, or even half.

If you are flying into Palm Springs, we rented a Dodge Neon (or similar) from Enterprise via Expedia.com for $92 including taxes. We pick it up on Thurs and return it on Monday. Good luck!

Hey all,

We are coming from FLA and here is what we are working out:

$400 Air fare
$275 ticket + est. charges
$ 60 camping pass + est. charges
$ 93 rental car in Palm Springs (booked on Expedia, this includes tax & all)
$150 food & misc
$150 more food and all the other crap we're bound to forget

$1128 Total and I think completely 110% worth it

Plus I am splitting all but the air fare and tickets with my friend, so it will be less out of my pocket.

I was thinking of hitting up a grocery store once we get there to get food and bottled water. I am guessing it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying it all at the festival, right?

If anyone has any good (ie money or time saving) ideas send me a message, we're first timers and can use all the advice you can give.
